Athletes using drugs, wrecking the image of Australian Sport!

The entire nation has been rocked with most recent news on the Essendon AFL Club after being accused it had conceded the use of banned drugs. Essendon says in a statement that it has not conceded the use of banned drugs by any of its players. After 214 days since the Essendon Bombers were initially reported about its supplement program; AFL agreed to kick the bombers out of the finals also being fined 2 million dollars as well as their coach suffering a 12 month ban.
This issue on the Bombers is only one of the few issues that Australian sport is facing; in fact, after the Essendon club was fined there was a lead up on Cronulla Sharks who also have been under the pressure from the ASADA for the use of drugs. Are these consequences for teams or athletes under the influence of drugs enough? Issues like these mentioned early in the paragraph ruins Australian sport creating a bad image around the globe, therefore; Life bans should be in place for Australian athletes caught doping.
Reason 1- Ruining image of Australian Sport
If there is something that brings people of all cultures together, it has to be sports. The Australian sport has evolved so much with technology affecting the change, including the athletes accessing performance-enhancing drugs. Will sport ever be as clean as it used to be? The reputation is slowly being ruined by sporting clubs and athletes that are using drugs to improve their performance; however, little do these athletes know that they are only sports are very important to many people,there is much pride and honor in sports; however, there is something that has tainted the image of sports and athletes alike: performance-enhancing drugs.
Reason 2- Unfair towards other
