BACHELOR OF BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
INTRODUCTION
The bachelor of business management (BBM) degree programme is one of the premier programmes of the School of Business and Economics, Moi University. It seeks to develop competent managers for the current competitive global business environments. This programme was initially introduced in Moi University in the School of Social and Cultural Studies as a Bachelor of Art degree in Technology and Management studies (TMS) in 1989. It was renamed Bachelor of Business Management degree in 1996. Since then it has been reviewed after every cycle (4 years) to include the current issues affecting business. The major revisions in this curriculum include the introduction of two new areas of specialization and a review of the course descriptions.
The BBM programme has attracted a good number of students and over the last 19 years more than 2,000 grandaunts have gone through its curriculum. The comments from the industry about the grandaunts’ knowledge and skills have been very impressive. The remarks, issues raised and ideas from the industry have also been factored in the revision of the curriculum.

The AACSB accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in mission driven valuebased education. The primary focus is to strive and harness excellence in research, teaching and specified learning goals. TAPMI joins an elite membership of fewer than 5% of the business schools worldwide. Internationally, specific research works found that AACSBaccredited schools provide high academic standards, a dedicated faculty and exceptional students. The mission-critical culture and the thorough process orientation enable students to internalise these aspects at an abstract level so much so that they are job-ready, mission-oriented and are highly adaptive to any organisational climate. There is a constant commitment to cultivate meaningful interactions between students and a qualified faculty to bring unique insights into business. The Institute is committed to OutcomeBased Learning (OBL) with a clear vision on the learning-goals of the programme. The courses are designed to continually bench-mark against the requirements of the industry and the knowledge of the changing industrial scenario. This would enable the students to be competent professionals and to attain specific intended learning outcomes. TAPMI brings together a wide range of management disciplines. It provides a dynamic environment where theory is put into practice and educates them to manage work, society and life. The best testament of TAPMI’s efforts and excellence is the increasing number of campus recruits every year. TAPMI prides…
