1. If not Lizzie, then who? Only Lizzie had a good opportunity to commit the murders. At the time of her mother's murder (around 9:30 A.M.), household guest John Morse was visiting relatives, sister Emma was out of town, Andrew Borden was running errands around town, and maid Bridget Sullivan was outside washing windows. Only Lizzie was known to be in the house at the time of Abby Borden's murder. To commit both murders (Andrew Borden was murdered around 11 A.M.), an outside intruder would have either have had to hide in the house for 90 minutes or departed and then returned without being seen.…

Many kids have their parents as theirs. I have both. I choose my dad because he is easy to talk to, he doesn't yell and is very understanding. He always spends as much time with me as he can. Many adults get upset very easily. Some let their children do whatever they want. I believe that both are equally harmful. I consider my dad as in the middle of the two. Sure, he has his moments when he's aggrevated, but it doesn't get the best of him. He takes me to Auto Shows, sporting events, and many other father-son activities. As you can see, my dad, as well as my mom, play important roles in my…

The United States Penitentiary (USP), Leavenworth, was the largest maximum security federal prison in the United States from 1903 until 2005. It became a medium security prison in 2005. It is located in Leavenworth, Kansas. It is an all-male, medium-security facility committed to carrying out the judgments of the Federal Courts. Leavenworth is one of three first generation United States Penitentiaries built in the early 1900s. The other two were Atlanta and McNeil Island(although McNeil dates to the 1870s the major expansion did not occur until the early 1900s). Prior to its construction, federal prisoners were held at state prisons. In 1895 Congress authorized the construction of the federal prison system.…

Teens and young adults are engaged in many different conflicts and struggles with their parents regarding various beliefs and values. In the essay “My Fathers Tribal Rule” by Mark Mathabane, he tells of his childhood where his father wanted his way and was not open to change. He wanted to bring his boys up the same way he was raised; Doing many different rituals and obeying all of his father’s household rules. Mathabanes father expected from Mathabane and his brother George, the same as his father did of him. Many times children in their teens and early twenties become engaged in conflict and struggle with their parents regarding personal beliefs and values. This experience is common because children at this age are trying to establish themselves in the world and are learning to think on their own. There are many different things that can cause disagreements but I have found house rules, friends and religion to be some of the most prominent ones.…

First of all, sonnets are interesting mystery puzzles of literature, but yet it’s an important part of it too. One of the most renowned poets of all time is no less William Shakespeare. He has written plenty of sonnets, in which is formed by three quatrains and a couplet. What is most interesting though, are that many of his sonnets are similar and some have highly contrasting styles. It’s as if you could tell that Shakespeare was a maudlin person, and his emotions and feelings can change drastically. There are happy and peaceful sonnets by him, as well as sonnets full of anger and hatred. Sonnet number 18 and 129 can be a good example of this, so I chose to make a comparison between them in this final paper.…

The impact of ethnic background and education level on individuals parenting style been a topic of interest to both developmental and family psychologists. This intense interest stems from the fact that a persons parenting style is so intimately intertwined with the culture they were exposed to. Ethnic variation in parenting style is almost universal. Numerous studies have investigated parenting in a very diverse set of countries, each with its own value systems, using parenting styles derived from Baumrind's work as the measure (Boyd & Bee, 2012, p.320-329). All of these studies have shown that authoritative parenting is the most consistently parenting style associated with the best psychosocial development and mental health development across…

Both of my parents went to college and both of them also went on to get a post-graduate degree. To them a college education is a necessity to be successful in life. Neither one of them expects me to get into or go to Harvard or Yale, but they do expect me to go to a respectable college. Some teenagers often do not go to college because they must get a job to support their family. Thankfully my parents have always said that I do not need to get a job until after college. The academic and financial support my parents have provided me has cause me not to think of college as a unattainable dream, but almost as another step in my educational , similar to high school or middle school. My parent’s knowledge of the college and the admission process has taught what I need to do in order to put myself in a position to get into a respectful college. The advice and knowledge from my parents has taught me not to just worry about my grades because colleges do not like book worms. Colleges like kids who show they can manage many activities while still maintain a solid 4+ GPA. This attitude has been a positive for me because now I am in many extra-curricular activities including playing Varsity lacrosse, being on the Academic Bowl team, and playing two instruments. Without my parents I could most definitely see myself being a book worm, but thanks to them shaping the attitude that colleges look at more than just grades I have become more outgoing. My parents influence on my view n attitude of college has most definitely been a positive one, and thanks to them, so far, I have been very…

Multiage Grouping dates back to the early 1900’s, but was slowly phased out of classrooms shortly after.
