ABSTRACT
Research is conducted from the students using this thin cylinder piece of equipment
(SM1007) to measure the stress and strain inside the thin wall tube. It is to determine the difference of strains obtained when a couple of separate conditions are usually tested.
Through this experiment, students will be able to study the strain and strains within two different stop conditions mentioned, which might be open ends conditions and closed stop conditions. The main difference between the two of these end conditions is the open ends condition doesn't have any longitudinal component regarding stress as there is absolutely no end constraint whereas within the closed end issue, longitudinal stress along with circumferential stress will do something about the walls from the cylinder.
Using the information which are this strains readings obtained, graphs are plotted respectively one example is using direct hoop stress versus hoop strain to analyze the actual
Fresh Modulus, E. Whilst, the next graph plotted with be longitudinal strain vs . hoop strain and from the gradient of this graph, the Poisson’s ratio can be had. With the fraction of error calculated and also the graphs plotted examined, the students will be
