Date of Publication: 2012 In this book it focused on what’s important financially and it stressed how important it is to control your spending and correcting your bad habits and learning how to make costly mistakes. Also we need to watch our habits. A habit is something you do all the time until it comes involuntary. Also being thrifty will save money could be a great habit to start. Being thrifty is when you’re careful and smart with money. Ways you could do this is by maybe turning off the television when you leave the room, you could even start drinking water instead of buying soda. The book also explained Marketing and how it is important to a business. Marketing is the business of advertising and selling products and services. Business also propagandas with their marketing, and they do this to advertise and persuade us to buy their products. Some people are very fugal which is people who are cautious with money to the point of going without things and this is a very simple way to live. A good incentive to save money is to think of what you need money for. Some people have to save money for tuition or maybe they just want to avoid going in debt, plus incase an emergency comes up you might want some money for that. Here are some ways to save money: Avoid using snack machines, walk and ride bikes to save gas, try to quit the use of drugs or alcohol, lastly you should pack your lunch instead of fast food places. There are four things that are essentials and broken down with cost. Food is 6,372 and Housing is 16,895 and clothing is 1,725 and transportation is 7,658. And you must balance wants and needs. Wants is what you like but don’t need. Needs is the essential in life. You have to prioritize; priorities are things of greatest importance. On average Americans spend 5.5% of their income on entertainment that’s approximately 2,693
