In the heart of Montana, ranchers and miners dreamed of having railroads going through Montana hoping it would bring life in. In fact more than likely it would, “Bring them instant prosperity and the promise of continued growth.” (montanakids.com) Without the railroad Montana would just be a place to dig for gold and for lots of land resulting in no reason to continue its growth since gold died down along with the open range, but with the railroad people would be traveling more because of the faster time. Not only did bringing promise and prosperity bring Montana to being a state, but the national parks did too. In the mountains of Montana, remote buildings filled with plumbing and fancy dining set up two beautiful places to have national parks. In fact these two national parks became parks because of the railroad.(Montana: Stories of the Land) Without the railroad coming and finding these places to have the parks Montana may have never became a state because it would have nothing to live up to making nothing special about it.
