Careful What You Wish For

by:Angelica Montanez

Hi, I am Cloe if you have trouble saying it then think of flow then say it.

I have a very annoying brother named Jack, he always ruins everything. I absolutly hate Jack, just today he ate a worm out of daddy’s tackle box. I wish he was dead, or better yet had never been born. We were at the park and he hit me ,so I said I hated him he ran away, how much of a baby can he be. I went home to see if he was there ,but surely enough he wasn't there. I’ve looked for Jack everywhere even at the dreadful Toby’s

I couldn’t find him.I went to go to the pet store but he wasn't there. Now where will I find him? How will I find him if I don't know what he likes I dont even know what grade he’s in.The only person who knows these things is Toby. I went once more to Toby’s disturbing house and Toby said that He loves exotic creatures so now off to the zoo to find my little brother. No matter how much I hate him I love him more than anything in the world so how could he go missing even if I wished him away he knows I love him , doesn't he? When we were at the zoo and I couldn't find my little brother I started to cry not because I might be dead in a few hours but because I missed my little brother he meant everything to me even though I don't admit it I love him more than anything in the world. then Toby and I decided that we should check the pool. I ran to the pool as fast as a cheetah no matter what I will find him.” JACK”, we screamed as loud as we could. this time there was a reply but from where? The sound seemed to be coming from everywhere and nowhere at the same time just then I blacked out… When I woke up I didn’t know where I was or how to

I tried to open my eyes but all I could see was darkness. All around me darkness sits, still and quiet. I heard a creak, then a minuscule and weak voice talked, “Sydney, are you alright?” “Mmm” was all I could get out of my weak and tired body. Then the voice talked to me again, “Sydney, this is Dad speaking. The doctor just told me that the impact of you hitting the seat in front of you was very hard, it blinded you for life.” Darkness grabbed me, never letting me be perky and happy again…

After a while of watching over her, I finally decided to head back to camp, as I wandered a raven cried it’s melancholy cry as if it had lost someone dear to them. Once I neared the camp, I could see the figure of one of the girls, as I neared her I could hear the sound of panic. The girl, Mary, ran to me, yelling, “The boy! What's his name again? He’s gone.…

A small ripple ran across the surface of the water where he had been. I called out his name, hoping that he had just swam underwater for a second. There wasn't a response. I swam out to where he was, feeling slimy strips of sea weed brush against and entangle my feet as I cut through the water as fast as I could.…

We moved into a fan formation and lost sight of each other. As I walked forward I saw the branches in front of me move. I stopped in my tracks. In Front of me was a huge black bear. I grabbed my gun and shot it in the air. The bear started to run towards me and I ran. I ran back the way I came. Sprinting I started to scream for my life until I fell the cold hard dirt was the last thing I felt before I felt the snap of my back as the bear landed on it. The cold ground started to warm as my vision blurred. The loud noise of a gunshot was the last thing I heard before I blacked…

Out of nowhere the building shook and continued to shake. What’s happening I keep asking myself and then scream start to fill and congest my mind, the view from the window covered with thick dark smoke. All of sudden I can almost smell death. I rush out the room to see what the cause of this is and what’s going on and my head become more and more bloated with screams and the emotion of fear. I gaze outside the window and I just stand there and think. How do I get myself out of this? I kept asking myself this and wondered and wondered. Until it struck me the best idea I could think of and it all comes from a children’s movie. Mary Poppins of course. The umbrella scene…

I let my feet feel the carpeted stairs inch by inch. A found missing flyer was framed on the wall as I paced up and down the hallway my head was out of my mind or was it my mind was out of my head? Screaming. Screaming. Screaming. It never stopped! Where was it! I banged on the wall over, and over, and over, and over again. I ran to the closet door and opened it. There it was; the screaming. There she was; the girl. I couldn't see her, but I could feel the chill. A victim. I closed the door. My eyes crossed and rolled back. A shot of adrenaline shoots up me. The screams poor out of my mouth. I can't control it. I try to close my mouth, but I can't. I start walking down the stairs at a fast pace. Foaming at the mouth I try to get myself together but I can't. Why. Before I know it I'm picking up my gun and walking at an even faster pace out the door, but how. Something's pulling me, but nothing's there. I'm walking faster, and faster, and faster. Past the river, past the boat, into the water, to the shore, through more woods. Walking, and walking, and walking, and walking. I stop. My upper body seems to collapse, but my legs keep me stable. I look around as if I'm checking to make sure no ones there. I take the gun to my head I start to weep and call for help... But I'm already…

“You seem to have missed a lot of stuff. Do not worry, we have your coordinates. I will come down to you and pick you up. There is a lot to explain.” There sure was a lot to explain. All of the sudden, it hit me like a ton of bricks. Picking me up? My grandfather, who I thought was dead and who probably did still think that I was dead, was about to meet me? I jumped out of my chair, walking up and down through the tiny room. Johnny woke up because I made such a noise while panicking from one corner of the room to another. “I’m sorry, my dear”, I said, walking up to him and petting his…

The image of myself in the crevice of the sand underwater and the top layer of the ocean replays in my mind often. I can recall the moment’s features exactly. A few days later, my sister Andie told me how terrified she was seeing my head roll under the water in the distance. It is apparent to me that this is what big sisters are for, her timing really came in at the right moment to watch over me that day. I remember hearing Andie screaming as I fell in and out of consciousness “Mom take her! Mom! Take her!”. Andie had ripped me out of the water as the waves crashed over, throwing us into sharp coral on the shore. Every bash into the coral was a cut against our skin. We wrestled with the land. This end portion to me is all a blur. My sister handed me off to my mom and my haze of a nightmare experience was over.…

I woke up hazed with blurred vision. The right side of my face was dried and burned. The left side of my face was soaked in salt water and blood. I was freaked out and picked up my head and blinked rapidly. I saw nothing but blue for miles and miles, the sky and the water. When I looked down I saw nothing but a small black and orange rubber dingy. I tried to think about what had happened. It was then when I realized I couldn't even remember my own name. Then panic just settled in for some reason I jumped in the water freaking out. I came to my senses and quickly started using all my strength to hurdle myself in the dingy.…
