The main reason I believe I deserve a scholarship, is because I have worked on improving myself year after year. This place is more than just a summer camp to me, it totally changed me for the better. This camp helped me be more social, responsible, and it taught me to work and strive for greatness. I do not think any other place could have had an impact on me like this place…
I have not had any scholarships in my time at Maryland. However, I am a DACA member, which is a student that has immigrated to the US at a young age. Being a DACA recipient has allowed me to come to this school at an in state tuition rate for the Robert H. Smith School of Business here at Maryland, which i believed is a scholarship in is own right for a person such as myself.…
For instance, in the spring 2016 semester I volunteered with the American Red Cross and I encouraged other residents to volunteer as a community service program. Another program that I executed was titled, "Can you survive?" The program took place around Halloween, so I included a mysterious theme to make it more entertaining for residents. The program consisted of deadly scenarios (i.e. the zombie apocalypse and a plane crash) to teach residents how to effectively work together. This program, and several of the other educational programs I facilitated, let residents learn in a fun and educational setting. Through these programs I developed strong and amicable relationships with residents, which helped me to better assist them when they were…
When starting Palomar College in the fall of 2014, the plan was only obtain a certificate of proficiency in real estate. However, upon seeking employment in the banking industry, it became evident that I would need a Bachelor’s Degree to be successful. I was not even sure where to start as no one in my family graduated from college. It’s been twenty years since I was in school and I struggled with math. In fact, I dropped out of high school in my junior year, but I completed it three years later in order to join the ARMY. In the summer of 2015, I started with English 10 and Math 50. I did well in the English class; however, I did not pass the math class. I retook Math 50 in the fall of 2015. I passed the class, but I was still unclear of…
Nothing reveals the true meaning of life until it is taken away. Death being the hardest, most tragic and life spiralling event, it can leave many people lost. For me it was exactly that, when I heard the tragic news of the death of my role model, my best friend, my only brother, it tore me apart. The death of my brother allowed me to put everything in perspective. Opening my eyes to the real world, to see beyond what is just happening right in front of me. With my freshman year of high school just starting with enough to deal with, this topped it all. I was lost. No time to say a simple “goodbye”.…
They have pulled me into their world, and have left me with no desire to leave. My experience with Camp Winnataska has left me with an urge to teach, as well. Being a leader there for the past two summers to come has shown me the joy that kids bring and how doing for others ultimately does more for yourself than you could imagine. Being able to influence them and spread to them the joy I have in my life has made an impact on my character, like no other. The Bulk Office Supply scholarship will give me the opportunity to prepare myself with the educational level needed to pursue my career of choice and to be able to reach out to the lives of the youth. Although general scholarships have already been applied to me, they only reduce the out-of-state amount. The in-state-tuition remains for me to pay off. Mississippi State holds a number of extra activities that I plan to be apart of. These include, but are not limited to, the student association, greek panhellenic, and the baptist student union. My parents have placed the responsibility of a handful of college finances in my hands and have left it up to me to find the means to pay them…

If I do get a scholarship that will be a great financial help for me and my family. If I do not get a scholarship my parents are willing to pay for my education because the outcome of going to college is worth the cost of getting a better education. I want to become a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon which are both involved in the medical field. The two schools that I am aiming for is University of California at Los Angeles and the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. I hope I get accepted to one of those two schools because those are the ones I think are the best ones for what I will be majoring in. Once I get out of college I hope I have a secure job working as a dermatologist somewhere. That way my life can start laying itself out and I hope that my future will be only of good times, but some bad times will come…
I believe that I should be awarded this scholarship because I have worked hard throughout high school. During my high school career I have participated in sports, extra curricular, and have managed to keep a 3.8 GPA. To me school is important and being involved helps to create unforgettable memories. This scholarship will help take some financial stress off my…
