King Arthur was played by the late Graham Chapman with one of the famous lines throughout the movie shouting, “Run away!” He had a few extra minor roles in the film, such as the voice of god and the middle head of the three-headed giant, but his main role was Arthur. The whole cast did a fantastic job mimicking riding on horseback with the many actors following along clapping their coconuts for the sound of horse hooves. John Cleese had many roles as well, from the Black Knight to the Taunting French Guard who has difficulty pronouncing the word “knight” with a silent K. His most memorable role though would have to be Sir Launcelot with his comical desire to save the damsel in distress only to find out after savagely storming the castle that his damsel was actually a man. Terry Gilliam played the role of Patsy and the bridge keeper but behind the scenes along with Terry Jones (who played the role of Bedevere and many others) both had a part in directing the film. Eric Idle and Michael Palin played numerous roles throughout the entire movie as well. In the end, this movie was acted out by just these six actors aside from the rushing army that arrives near the end the extras in the witch mob and the lonely maidens of the anthrax castle (Monty Python and the Holy
