Morally Virtuous Research Paper
Morally Virtuous

Virtue and morality are things we all possess to some degree. We all try to be as virtuous as possible. It is a daunting task to be the most morally virtuous since we are competing against each other everyday. However, being morally virtuous might hinder another aspect of a person like attractiveness. Attractiveness whether physical or mentally can be lessened. Being morally virtuous does in fact entail that an individual be a personally unattractive character. In todayfs society we demand perfection in every way. Physical beauty is one of the most desired aspects of a person. Sometimes we focus more on visual beauty than being a good person. But to be a virtuous person several things are needed. First of

Normally we exclude the bad qualities since we do not relate them to virtue. Aristotle said gvirtues are simply those characteristics that enable individuals to live well in communitiesf. So to live well or happy we need those characteristics that are good. Going back to beauty, it contrasts to moral virtue. Because physical attractiveness is desired so much, we can derive that we are all shallow. We can confirm this because we all have the urge to engage in sexual activities. And usually one would want to have contact with another who is physically attractive. The will to find a beautiful mate is not virtuous because we are excluding those visually challenged. Beauty can even affect business and religion. An example of this is the prejudice employers have against someone who is less visually attractive than someone who is attractive. In this case the attractive person will get the job based on looks only. This visual sifter is not a good characteristic because pleasure can be acquired no matter how beautiful an individual is. Shallowness is not a good quality to have although everyone is to some extent. Since shallowness is a trait we all have it opposes moral virtue making us unattractive mentally. To

To Linda’s considerable chagrin and bewilderment, Willy’s family, Charley, and Bernard are the only mourners who attend Willy’s funeral. She wonders where all his supposed business friends are and how he could have killed himself when they were so close to paying off all of their bills. Biff recalls that Willy seemed happier working on the house than he did as a salesman. He states that Willy had all the wrong dreams and that he didn’t know who he was in the way that Biff now knows who he is. Charley replies that a salesman has to dream or he is lost, and he explains the salesman’s undaunted optimism in the face of certain defeat as a function of his irrepressible dreams of selling himself. Happy becomes increasingly angry at Biff’s observations.…

One of the most difficult trials I face in my life are ethical and moral dilemmas. An ethical dilemma is more consistent with my everyday life than a moral dilemma. Ethical dilemma is defined as situations in which there is a choice to be made between two options, neither of which resolves the situation in an ethically acceptable fashion. Every day I am faced with decisions of right and wrong most of which are easily and correctly dealt with. Sometimes decisions need to be made that are not easy or clear, however they require thought and often prayer.…

The intention of this essay is to discuss and assess the morality of cheating when one is in a serious relationship. I will be referencing case number 22, which deals with the ethics of cheating in a relationship. My opinion on the matter is that it is morally unacceptable for an individual involved in a serious relationship to cheat. To defend this position that I have taken, I will address the individual rights of both members of the relationship, make use of analogies and consider objections from the opposing view. While some relationships are not victims of the cheating plague, it is a rising concern for many couples as it appears that the temptations, opportunities and avenues to cheat are very present in today's society.…

Before reading the Code of Ethics of the Education Profession in Florida, I wasn’t quite aware exactly why the State Board of Education needed these written codes. The Code of Ethics states that teachers must not violate the Code of Ethics and that they may be subject to revocation or suspension to their educators certificate or other penalties as provided by law. The Code of Ethics is basically broken down into three major parts, which involve an obligation to the student, an obligation to the public and lastly an obligation to the profession of education. This seems to be some serious stuff to not mess with, and as one of my professor likes to say these obligation are written to make the “big dogs” in education satisfied. Although I do believe there is a purpose for these areas. I also think that the Code of Ethics deals with how a teacher should simply carry themselves in their own teaching enviroment including their duty and knowing commitment that they signed up for. “By virtue of their leadership capacity, teachers are traditionally held to a high moral standard in the community”, this shows high importance of teachers knowledge and understanding of the way you should act and the morals they should bring along with them. Since the late 1960’s Florida teachers has always served under a Code of Ethics for Educators, which was quite similar to the Code of Ethics now by the National Education Association. That Code of Ethics wasn’t enforced until 1982 when the State Board then revised the code recommended by the Education Standards Commission. Now the most current Code of Ethics of the Education Profession in Florida stated that any Florida educator who violated any of the principles is subject to straight penalty. In the whole scheme of things this does bring up the topic of whether teachers can truly have their own private life aside from school life. Issues regarding the Code of Ethics can appear through many classrooms lesson plans and activities…
