Moses Mendelssohn believed that there were many factors to help the Jewish people succeed in the world outside the ghettos. He believed that for the Jewish people to succeed they need to understand the culture and language of the German society. The Jewish people would have to understand and become more familiarised with the way of which the rest of the society lived. He enabled the Jewish children to be educated in secular and Jewish subjects in one school. As well as he printed the torah in German, but the writing of the words was in Hebrew. His main priority of helping the Jewish people in succeeding outside of the ghetto walls was for them to understand German in good quality as well as for them to understand secular subjects. Many of the rabbis of his time assumed that the way in which he approached this task was going to cause danger in the traditional Jewish lifestyle. They had uncertainty if the Jewish people were going to be able to retain the factual balance between Jewish traditions and the modern world around them. All of which he believed would help the Jewish people succeed in the outside world of the ghettos.
Mendelssohn made many contributions to Jewish life to achieve his own vision. In order to achieve his own vision he rewrote the torah in German. The letters of which were in Hebrew but the saying meaning of the words were in German. As well as he is the father of reformed Judaism. He introduced this factor of reformed Judaism, this was an option for the people to follow. Reformed Judaism allows women and men to pray together as well as the rules in which they would have needed to follow where easier. As well as he paved the ways to freedom from the ghettos for the Jewish people. He taught and made it legal for the Jewish people to be apart of the society and allowed them to learn and integrate with the non-Jewish community. To achieve his own vision he many contributions to Jewish living, he taught them how to be the same but at the same time learn and treat Judaism with respect. Even though for some his vision made many convert to Christianity, for the most they believed that he contributed a huge amount to allow them to live like the ‘normal society’.
