Product Making Process:-
Processing of Milk
At Mother Dairy, processing of milk is done through state-of-the-art microprocessor technology which integrates and completely automates all functions of milk processing and ensures high product quality, reliability and safety. The various stages of milk processing are given below. Clarification
The chilled milk from the silos goes to the clarifier after pre-heating. The clarifier spins the milk at very high speed, removing all dust particles that are invisible to the naked eye.
Standardization
Milk from different breeds of cows and buffaloes may vary in its composition. Hence, to make milk uniform in composition, before supply to the market,it is standardized by raising or lowering its fat and SNF percentages present in the milk to a desired level, so as to deliver the milk to consumers as prescribed norms of FSSAI
Homogenization
In this process, the milk is processed at a very high pressure during which the large fat globules present in milk are broken down in to tiny droplets. The milk fats get evenly distributed in the milk and milk become whiter and thicker. Milk is homogenized for consumers who to not like cream layer on top. Homogenization improves palatability of milk and is easily digestible.
Pasteurization
The milk is then pasteurized, named after Louis pasteur, a French scientist who invented the process for use in wine. Pasteurization was first applied to milk by Dr. Soxhiet of Germany. This involves heating the milk at 72 degree celsius for 15 seconds and then rapidly cooling it down to 4 degree celsius . This process kills all the pathogenic bacteria present in the milk making milk safe for consumption. Pasteurization, unlike boiling does not affect the nutritional value of the milk.
Distribution of Milk
After processing, milk is dispatched in hygienic & sterilised milk tankers or packed in food grade material and transported under cold chain to our nearest milk shops. Everyday, as part of quality assurance, milk samples are collected from milk shops randomly and are tested.
The above processes help us in maintaining our stringent quality control standards, in order to ensure that the milk you get is fresh, pure and healthy.
After dispatching, it is important to keep a note of its availability. Company's milk tanker are fitted with wireless set or GPS. This helps in close monitoring of milk distribution. The control room is very vital for efficient distribution of milk to all the retail outlets across the city. It organizes the tanker routes so that shops do no run out of milk.
As soos as the person in the control room learns that a shop is running out of milk, he contacts the tanker nearest to the shop on wireless which then delivers the milk to the shop.

I am writing you in response to your concern regarding a market test of the new 6 oz. cups and multi-pack yogurt carriers that Clover Valley Dairy would like to introduce to our customers. The purpose of the research project will be to see if the new type of packaging for yogurt will be worth the change and if our consumers are accepting of the new change. It will tell us if our new six-cup carrier is effective or not. I feel the new type of carrier should be tested in non-competing areas. However, it should also be tested in our market as well as our competitor’s market. A key part in testing this new…

Dairy as an entire market is viewed by most as a necessity for health purposes. Whether it’s fluid milk, cultured yogurt, or cheese, the dairy market is elastic in relation to price. Elasticity in economics is reflective of supply and demand. If we make adaptations to quantity based upon price then the supply is elastic (Hall, n.d.). On the demand side, demand is elastic if the level of demand is impacted by changes in price. There is competition…

In the fall of 1978, Vince Roth, General Manager of the Clover Valley Dairy Company, was considering whether a newly developed multipack carrier for yogurt was ready for market testing and, if so, how it should be tested. Since 1930, the Clover Valley Dairy Company had sold, under the trade name Valleyview, milk, ice cream, and other milk by-products—such as yogurt, cottage cheese, butter, skim milk, buttermilk, and cream—in Camden, New Jersey. The raw milk was obtained from independent farmers in the vicinity of Camden and was processed and packaged at the Clover Valley Dairy. Clover Valley’s sales had grown steadily from 1930 until 1973 to an annual level of $3.75 million. However, between 1973 and 1977, a series of milk price wars cut the company’s sales to $3.6 million by 1977. During this time, a number of other independent dairies were forced to close. At the height of the price wars, milk prices fell to 75 cents per half-gallon. In the spring of 1977, an investigation of the milk market in Camden was conducted by the Federal Trade Commission and by Congress. Since then, prices had risen so that Clover Valley had a profit for the year to date. Clover Valley served approximately 130 grocery store accounts, which were…

Charlotte Perkins Gilman and Kate Chopin both present intriguing short stories with the common theme of oppression that strongly mirrors their personal experiences. The narrator in Gilman’s “The Yellow Wallpaper” is portrayed as being trapped by her husband and suffering from mental illness. This is represented by the woman behind the wallpaper. Chopin shows oppression in “The Story of an Hour” by Mrs. Mallard’s joy after the “death” of her husband and her reaction when he returns. It is evident that the narrator in “The Yellow Wallpaper” and Mrs. Mallard in “The Story of an Hour” represent the authors’ personal lives and oppression in women.…

There are warnings and new research advising consumers to avoid raw milk and raw milk products. Indeed, I was surprised to read Nelson (2010) that, “Raw milk stands alone as the only food that has ever been outlawed, and its advocates point out that it took a constitutional amendment to ban alcohol,” (p. 3). Nonetheless, the movement seems to be gaining in popularity. The Oake Knoll Ayrshire farm in Foxborough, Massachusetts owned by the Lawton family is a perfect example of the momentum that the raw milk movement has gained. “Lawton figures that she has 200 weekly customers, versus just a handful two years ago,” (Gumpert, 2008). With the “organic” fresh products movement and the increased accessibility to farmer’s markets, consumers have become more aware of these alternatives. According to the president of the Weston A. Price Foundation, a foundation that stands strongly behind the raw milk movement, an estimated half a million Americans or more are consuming raw milk. There are many issues surrounding the raw milk versus pasteurized milk debate, but at this time I want to focus on the issue of choice.…

There have been significant improvements in dairy husbandry and management practices, especially in terms of lower numbers of males in dairy herds and the increasing percentage of cows in milk (from about 17% of the herd in milk in 2000 to about 19-23% in 2008). 7. Poor keeping quality of fresh milk is a serious concern among farmers and also with MPUs. This could be attributed to unhygienic milking conditions, time taken to deliver the milk to collection centres due to remoteness and road conditions, lack of chilling/cooling facilities, and adulteration with unclean water. Preservation of milk by chilling/heating would involve investments or by addition of preservative such as lactoperoxidase would be a policy option which DOL has to make.…
