creating eye to eye contact with her infant as soon as possible. Since the infant will start to recognize her as her mother and will start the bonding process with her. Also is important to start making eye to eye contact with the infant, since the infant is unable to speak he/she tries to communicate with the mother through the eyes, And as the baby makes eyes signals the mother might be able to understand what the infant is trying to communicate by observing his/her eyes. The infant will start to educate and have his/her mind for open to new words.
As the infant is unable to speak or understand the mother words they are both able to understand each other emotions by looking at each other eyes. Belinda Luscombe in “Babies Identify Emotions by Looking at the Whites of Our Eyes” writes “Humans, it turns out, are the only primates in which the whites of the eye are visible. The amount of sclera, as the white is known, is often an indicator of the emotions of a person. Wide open eyes, with a lot of visible white, express surprise or fear. When people smile, on the other hand, their eyes often narrow, hiding the whites. Fellow humans use the eyes a lot to detect what a person is really feeling...If people can't see the whites of each other's eyes, they're not really communicating(1).” Luscombe is trying to say that since we are infants we are able to communicate and understand the person's feelings by looking into their eyes. Luscombe is also trying to say that emotions are interpreted by the shape that the eyes forms. Once the bond is completed the infant will feel the effect of the love that his mother is providing to his/her infant. Once the infant is older there is a big probability that he/she will seek mother adviced to guide him/her through life. Since the infant knows that she will try to give the best advice because they formed a strong bond and would want the best for him/her. This happens all the time as me for example I still go back to my parents and ask for advice when I need it because Since an infant they have guided me through to make the right decisions in my life. Mother and infant bonding is important to accomplish at soon as possible with the infant.
Since the bond at a young age will last a lifetime of both mother and infant. Also Is important to make eye to eye contact since is a form of communication between the mother and the infant. Since the infant is unable to communicate with the mother verbally he/she is able to communicate with her through the eyes and understand each other's feelings and emotions by looking through their eyesight. Also the infant with the eye to eye contact at a young age the infant will start to recognize his/her mother by just looking at her. As the infant becomes older he/she will continue to keep the bonding between the mother and
him/her.
