Mothers and Fathers

Mothers and Fathers Mothers and fathers have multiple jobs, but their most significant job is to raise and nurture their children. Together or separately, parents are there to help their children become good people. While mothers tend to have a comforting touch and help their children feel secure, fathers believe in challenging their children. Both styles build confidence, but in unique ways. Although there are many differences in the parenting styles of mothers and fathers, they still share the primary job of helping their children know the difference between right and wrong.
Parents want what is best for their children but they have different views on what is the best method of parenting. Women, especially mothers, react to situations differently than fathers. There are different cases which illustrate this point. If a male child around the age of nine were to hurt himself, the mother would care for and sympathize with the boy. She would attend to his emotional needs as well as clean up the boy’s injuries. However, in this same situation, the father might tell the boy to “be a man” after cleaning the injury. He may show less compassion, and in doing so, he would send a message to the boy that he should not show weakness. The boy looks up to the father as a role model and would do as the father says. Now if a female child were to hurt herself, the father would conduct himself differently. The father would exhibit more of the mother’s traits in caring for the girl. The father tends to play the stronger role in the family as a protector. The mother would basically react the same way with either child. This is because all mothers, no matter what race or religion, treat their children with the same love and compassion. Fathers feel the same as the mothers, but show it in different ways. This is primarily because of generations of men being raised to be the stronger sex. To most people, the qualities between a mother and father, and what they want for their children, are fairly similar. In society, many people believe that men and women have completely different roles and duties as parents. Contrary to that thinking, most parents have one common goal in mind. This common goal is to care for and raise their children to feel loved and protected. Parents will always be there for their children, even as their children grow to be adults. When their children are young and need help doing homework, either parent can help them. The mother could be strong in reading and history, while the father is equally as strong in science and math. Both parents make sure their children succeed and take the time to help them. In addition, if their child needs a place to stay while they are trying to find a job right out of college, their parents’ home will always be available for them. Parents want their children to grow up and be successful. If their children get stuck along the path, parents will be there to help carry them along. Mothers want their children to have a good paying job, find love, get married, and have a family. Likewise, fathers want their children to be happy, no matter where they find that happiness.
Parents show their love for their children with many different types of behaviors. This does not mean that one parent cares for one child more than another. Parents know that each of their children is unique so different methods of discipline and communication are required.
