Executive Summary
The purpose of this study is to analyze how different variables are related to the success of a motion picture. For the basis of the analysis, data of 100 motion pictures produced in 2005 was used. Specifically, the performance data collected are the motion picture titles, open date gross sales, total gross sales, the number of theatres which screened the movie, and the amount of weeks the motion picture was in the top 60 for gross sales. Several numerical methods of descriptive statistics are used to determine the analysis. We use descriptive statistics to describe the four variables measured in the motion picture study.
