Module 1- Motivation
What motivated me to enroll at GCU and pursue my degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) is my goal of being an art teacher. I aspire to be more than an Assistant Teacher throughout my teaching career. I want to be the decision maker in my classroom I want to be the one to come up with the lessons, and I know I cannot do this without my degree. I want to be proud that I have completed this because my goal has been delayed due to my unexpected motherhood at the age of fourteen. I want my children to know that anything is possible if you work hard and study and always be open to learn.
Motivation plays a tremendous part for a student to succeed because everyone
needs something or someone to keep them motivated and give them some kind of purpose. My motivation stems from me wanting to show my children that you’re never too old to learn and it’s never too late to go back to school. I want them to see me working hard so they will be motivated to work hard. I also believe that obtaining my degree in ECE will help me to become a better parent by being a student to them as they teach me better ways to teach other children. (They are my very first students.)
The Class Wall can help me feel connected with the other students by allowing me to see what their opinions are about the topics discussed in class. That way I am able to comment on my classmates posts giving me an open dialogue to other students taking the course. I am able to receive help and feedback from other classmates and I feel like I am in an actual classroom. I believe this connection will keep me motivated because I feel like I have some type of support. I can’t really say I had too many difficulties with this module. My main concern is really learning how to post y assignments properly. I’m fairly new to Microsoft Office & Student 213 and I have never used Loud Cloud classroom. This is all new to me but, I am very eager to learn everything I can during these class sessions.
