Since I was an 8-th Grader I took part in the organisation of many high-school events and trips such as the 1st-of-July Charity Fair, Halloween and Christmas parties, various sport competitions and a long-remembered trip around the country. I was elected the Chairwoman of the Student Council at school two years in a raw and as such contributed to the initiative "Children Help Children". For me it was pleasure, not an obligation and this is how the initial idea of studying Tourism and/or Event Management formed. Planning, coordinating and taking active part in events, combined with my passion for travelling, shaped the idea and inspired me to apply to an undergraduate programme abroad and then, hopefully, find professional realization in the sphere. Thinking about Torism and/or Event Management, I find the UK the perfect place for my academic development and self-improvement in the sector. A world-famous tourist destination, vibrant society and busy social life all provide good opportunities for valuable practical experience. Practice as an important and integrated part of the curriculum is what attracted my attention. I am definitely opting for a 'sandwich' or practice-involved undergraduate programme at a UK university as work placement is something future employers would be looking for.

Competitive high school environment is extremely important for the successful transition into a university classroom. As a student at the St Patriarch Evtimii Secondary School in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, I was inspired and motivated by both teachers and classmates to study hard and perform well academically. My excellent grades aim to prove that. Moreover, I have the opportunity to study three foreign languages – French, Italian and English – which has made me more adaptive and open to foreign society and customs. Excellent communication skills and knowledge about business and management are other qualities one must possess. I made the first step and put the ground by taking part in the organization of school events. To be able to organize myself before organizing an event is a valuable lesson I learnt through these initiatives. I got used to rate tasks by importance and urgency. Steadiness and easy-temper ar two of my qualities I relied most in stressful situations. I try to keep an optimistic view about resolving a problem. With the help of my good friends - 'creativity' and 'imagination' - I always aim to break the cliche. In all cases I look for a pinch of modernism that could make an event, a project or a trip unique and longtime-remembered. I believe an undergraduate programme in Tourism and/or Event Management at a UK university would provide the initial base and the push needed to become a professional in the filed of management. My passion and love for organizing all kind of events and trips will guide me through the academic years and the amazing experience of studying abroad.

In Dark Heart of the Night, political upheaval triggers a multitude of questions that challenge the patriarchal society in Mboasu, in Central Africa. As a rebel group comes in and creates turmoil in the small village of Eku in the span of a single night, there is a shift in the gender hierarchy from man to woman when the chief gets decapitated as a symbol of weakness in his leadership, and strength in the young man who performed the decapitation. In that horrific night, members of the village began to question their sense of community with one another, despite the symbolic unifying of the clan through the cannibalistic sacrifice of one of their own. Rebel leader Isilo reminded the people of Eku what it meant to be African, and the efforts they…

My interest in studying Events Management started to develop in my early years of adolescence due to my interest in music, dance and other different events that bring many different people from different backgrounds and similar interests together. Since it does not interest me to be on stage, I want to be involved in the work that is in charge of the planning of the event. Another thing that made me want to take this course was the involvement in charity events and different festivals. As I have been in an International School most of my life, I enjoy and need to interact with people from different cultures which has helped me to acknowledge all the different customs and traditions in the different cultures. When I started the International Baccalaureate system, one of my courses that I chose was Business & Management whilst learning about Management this made me realized that I was capable and also wanted to pursue my knowledge in a similar course of management, such as Events Management.…
