Speech

Good Evening.
I am both honored and flattered to have the pleasure of speaking to you all today.
We all come from many different walks of life and have our share of sacrifices that we have made.
But I believe that we should find comfort in knowing that our lives are before us and we have done well to make it this far.
However, I challenge you not to rest on your seat but to continue to strive towards even greater goals. Never settle for anything in life, because if you do… you’ll never know what the best feels like.
The key to self-improvement is change. Im sure we have all had our share of past mistakes and slip-ups, But remember that an error doesn’t become a mistake until you refuse to correct it and now is the time to start. The first step toward making any change is by first realizing that it starts with YOU. Your character is the key element to your future. The type of person you, are, how you treat others, and your attitude about life in general. They are the core of a fulfilled and fulfilling life.
It starts with small steps and In the end, they all add up. My hope for you is that you will cultivate this attitude and realize. That each small decision you make; takes you one step closer to achieving self-improvement.
If there is any one thing that is evidenced by your daily choices it is your character. We are all adults who know right from wrong and I truly believe what Thomas Macaulay said, "The measure of a man's real character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out."
What do you do when no one's around? The teacher steps out of the room for a moment while you are taking a test after school. You know exactly where in your notes the answer to question 23 is. Do you look? Minimal chance of being caught!
The answer to this question is the key to your true character.
While being honest and honorable when others are watching is important, being true to yourself is the real

If you don’t set goals and learn from your mistakes, you won’t achieve anything. What goals will I set in my life? A major goal of mine is to learn as much as I can in school so in the future I will be a smart and brilliant person. For instance, I will try to ask questions, study every test a week before it starts and try to answer problems even if they are wrong. I also spend a lot of time running in track and field. When I race myself, I usually like to time myself so I can improve from my previous score. If you live long enough, you'll make mistakes. But if you learn from them, you'll be a better person. It's how you handle adversity, not how it affects…

Self-improvement may be started with the Think and Grow Rich concept. Andrew Carnegie (1835-1919) led an expansion in the American Steel industry in the late 1800’s. He was also the highest profile Philanthropists in his time. Along with his monopoly of the industry, Carnegie shared his wisdom of becoming a billionaire with Napoleon Hill (1883-1970). Hill simply summarized what Carnegie had to say into one famous quote “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve.” Hill added that no matter how many times you have failed in the past, you can still do whatever you set your mind to do - even if it seems out of reach. The only way this will work in your favor is based on the idea that you have complete power over your mind. Hill used gratitude, burning desire and persistence to define the proper technique for this process. You decide what you want in life, visualize it in your mind, and do what necessary means it takes to achieve that desire.…

Self improvement and self acceptance; before I change myself, I need to accept myself as I am. This does not mean liking everything; it means loving me as a whole, and acknowledging the reality of whatever I would prefer to be different. Self acceptance assists in my self improvement goals. Self acceptance examines the "problem" honestly, without the distorted view which would be caused by a denial and hatred of that problem. When I see the condition clearly, I am more likely to find a solution -- or even to conclude that this is not a problem after all.…
