Motive-Something Definition

Motive- something (as a need or desire) that causes a person to act. My motivation is being able to prove myself to others. I don't like it when a person looks at me and bases their judgment off of looks. For instance, when I first joined band and started marching I didn't do too well. When I did horribly some of the older, more experienced kids laughed at me. I was very agitated so I pushed myself to try harder and I became better. Once I became more experienced the other kids pushed me to do better than ever. Another time I was able to prove myself was when I first learned to swim.
