“Well....,” Maja says.
“ Come on. It’s spring break and we need to visit a historically significant place to do research for our essay.”
“Why can’t we go somewhere else? Why do we have to go to dead man’s mansion that will
probably be really crowded?”
“I think it would be a great place to go. We can read the letters that were sent between Washington and his cousin Lund Washington, or we could look at the beautiful scenery. I know you’ll love it. Just look at the pictures.”
“Yeah right. Everyone knows that everything looks better in magazines.”
“ Maybe so, but read this article.”
“Fine.”
The article says, “The home of George Washington, the first president of the United States, is absolutely beautiful. You can gaze at the wonderful views, or take a walk in the well maintained gardens. Come and pay your respects to the first president and the first lady if you wish, for this is where they are buried.”
“Okay. This does seem kind of cool, but I’m not going to say that you that you were right.” Maja admits.
“That’s fine with me. So, are we going to go?”
“I guess so. I’ll get the tickets Saturday.”
