Over the last two classes, we finished watching the movie The Hunger Games. I really enjoy the movie and I feel amazed after watching it. It is remarkable and fantastic. The movie is directed by Gary Ross and is an adaptation of the first in a set of three fantasy books written by Suzanne Collins. It is released in year 2012. Jennifer Lawrence is one of the primary actors and she plays the leading role as Katniss Everdeen. Other major actors include Josh Hutherson, Liam Hemsworh, Woody Harrelson and Stanley Tucci.
The plot of this movie is very exciting. The dystopian nation of Panem consists of a wealthy Capitol and twelve ruled districts. The Hunger Game is an annual contest hosted by the Capitol wherein 24 contestants must fight to death in an exciting brutal punishment for previous district uprising. In district 12, Katniss Everdeen volunteers to be the female tribute in order to replace his younger sister. She and the male tribute Peeta Mellark are sent to the Capitol and started their preparation for the game. During the real game, Katniss is in danger several times but she gets through all of them with her courage, skill, strategy, and the chance that interacts in unique ways. At last, Katniss and Peeta become the survivors.
In my opinion, the actors in The Hunger Games did a very good job. Jennifer Lawrence used variety of facial expressions to show different character traits of Katniss. When she volunteered as the tribute, Jennifer had a strong determination in her eyes and voice to show how brave and persistent Katniss was. Josh Hutherson, as a young actor who was 22 years old when he played the movie, also showed matured acting skills. The scene that impressed me most is when Peeta and Katniss hide in a cave at night. Peeta finally tells Katniss that he had a feeling for her since they were little kids. When he speaks to Katniss, Josh did a good job showing his love
