Movies vs Literature
People often read book or watch movies for entertainment in their spare time. Since movies have been invented, the use of book has been declined very much. Movies are a better medium form of storytelling than literature. A film present series of action, emotion, and brings audience into the story in a much more lively way than reading books can produce. Films are also more time convenient and enjoyable.
Visually, movies are more appealing than literature. A full page of text is tedious and dull; they automatically lock people out from accessing their story. Books have too many words so it’s hard for people to stay focus on it. Also, some books are just harder to read for younger audiences because their comprehension level isn’t that high, but if they see the movie they may be able to understand it better. An example of this is Lord of the Rings. The Lord of the Rings books are very long and sometimes hard to understand; the movies, on the other hand are much easier to understand and a lot of fun to watch.
In addition to that, films are more enjoyable than literature due the social aspect that can be involved in watching a movie. Unlike literature, Films can be enjoyed with the company of friends. No one ever goes out and gets popcorn, candy and a drink to sit and read a book. Also, with everyone gathered in one place you can engage and enjoy conversations.
Not only are stories are also more accessible to a larger number of people in movie form than as books. They’re also more time convenient, if someone were to spend their entire weekend doing nothing but reading they would at most finish only three books, if they read fast, but if that same person were to spend the entire weekend watching movies they can probably knock out about twelve movies. Movies skip out a lot of detail that appears in books, because they don’t need to describe scenes in detail, they just flash a picture and move on. They are quicker in conveying the story.
Although literature is very important in our culture, the film industry is developing every day to make films visually are more appealing, easier to understand, and more accessible than literature. It’s clear to see that movies are not only a better medium for story telling but they also provide many more advantages to society than literatures.

Storytelling is more important to me than anything else, and I believe film is one of the most rewarding and honest forms of storytelling. Ever since I was a little kid I have been in love with movies. When I was nine I got a camcorder for Christmas, and I would make my friends help me remake scenes from my favorite movies, and when they said the lines wrong I would yell at them and make them do it over and over until they got it right or got so annoyed with me that they went home.…

Why is it that when a book gets it’s own movie that there are several differences between the book and the movie? Some people argue that the book is always better than the movie. There is a reason for this. Firstly, in most book to movie adaptations small details are changed or are just not included. Secondly, the movie often takes short cuts and doesn’t touch on certain aspects that were described in the book. Lastly, when reading a book you are free to make your own subtext and fill in the blanks with your imagination. The movie adaptations of books have always lacked the detail that's in the book, some things are completely cut from the movie to maintain a well paced story, and it fills in the gaps for us making the experience less unique.…

Different types of media can be used to present the same ideas and information, but with the use of different types of media, the ideas can be perceived as different things. The same principle comes to be true after viewing the work of “A River Runs through it” by Norman Maclean. After having observed the novel and the film, both forms of media proved to have its advantages. The novel does a much better job of accurately representing the theme of the story and allowing the reader to interpret the overall message as well as representing characters for what they should be, however the movie gains an advantage by using visual representations as well at audio to help the audience understand.…
