The moment when you were first born is important. The moment when you first go to school is important. Many things happened to us in the past , but we only remember it vividly, probably because it’s not that essential so we’re not bothered by it. However, we will remember our watermarks forever even if we’re growing older by the days because it makes us who we are. Different people have their own different lives to live, so of course everyone’s story is not the same. As for me, the one watermark that I still remember until now was when I moved to America back in 2008, because it has changed my life forever. I was still naive, sensitive and carefree back in 2008, simply because I was a seven years old girl. My life was mainly just eat, sleep, go to school, , and play, just like most children in Vietnam. To me life was great because I had friends, and most of my close relatives by my side in which I cherished and still do a lot. I get to visit my grandmother and have a reunion with my countless uncles, aunts, and cousins from
I don’t need fancy stuff, I just need to be in my old home. You could say, “Not everything goes the way you want it to and everything happens for a reason I had to move to America, there were no other choices. Everybody kept on saying I was lucky, but to a 7 year old kid, I didn’t see what was so good about leaving everything I loved behind. But they told me I’ll get use to it, and America will provide what I want much more, but will it really?. Does America really have my favorite food? Will it be the same? Will the kids there be nice and accept me like my old friends in Vietnam? How can I go to school if I don’t know any English? Many worries were running in circles in my head. Starting all over was not an easy task. What if I get bullied in school? What if my grades will become F’s because I don’t know English? Will I ever get a chance to see my relatives
