When I was working at B & Q, a rather elderly gentleman was having difficultly not only is walking throughout the store but also reading because of his poor eye sight.
I went out of my way to assist the gentleman by walking him to the aisle where he wished to purchase his items for his rental property.
By chance the items were on special promotion, when I explained to him the offer was expiring in 2 days time, he proceeded to make a significant purchase totalling more than £600 which would not of happened unless I offered him a high standard of customer service.

By informing customers of how much they are saving with the new promotion within the limited time frame I could often persuade them to take advantage immediately before they left the store.
At B & Q I covered the tiling department. A customer was interested in wood flooring, after I explained the benefits of tiling such as durability and finish opposed to wood flooring the customer followed my advice and made a large purchase.
