I would like to begin by pointing out that unlike ICD 9 in which your rarely use letters with the exception of V and E codes, in ICD 10 you have a alphanumberic code structure to identify diagnoses, causes and treatment codes. The diverisity in code structure doesn't stop there, there is also more room for expansion in coding with ICD 10.
