“ What motivated you to go to work everyday?” Mr. Johnson Dad answered “A blank slate.. I couldn’t go to a job like Dunkin donuts…everyday.”
“How many games did you cover in basketball? I covered about fifty games”. Said Mr. Johnson’s dad. Mr. Johnson dad make a statement “ Anyone who has an interest in journalism?..You need to get a great overview of the world... I think it is an exciting life. “What was the hardest part about your job?” A student asked in block three. “ The hardest part was getting up early. Said Mr. Johnson’s dad.
When Mr. Johnson's dad was about ten years old his grandfather became blind from diabetes. He would have to describe his grandfather about the
game.
“ What is your mind set on radio?” Asked a student in Block three class. Bruce stated “ Your only as good as your microphone on camera. Another few questions was asked like “What is your social life like?, What was your two favorite stories?” He is on a well rounded schedule and “I normally get home around noon...I take a nap and rest”.
Bruce Johnson favorite stories he covered was “911. I worked in central Jersey I did a lot of wall to wall reporting… When 911 first happened no one was pronounced dead. The other one was superstorm sandy. It hit in the dark... They reported all night long.”They showed the jersey shore… I will never forget when the sun came up and I saw the damages.” Another question asked “ What was the hardest part about becoming a Broadcaster?” “The hardest part was learning how to talk.” said Bruce.
Mr. Johnson told the class “ to begin the day... he talked in the car on turnpike.” A fun fact about Bruce is that he hates hockey and the Nets,Giants, and the Nicks.
“ What would be your second choice if Broadcasting did not work out?” asked a student. “If broadcasting didn’t work out for me; then I would have became an astronaut.”
Final question before the class ended was “ How has social media become broadcasting?”asked a student Social media has changed...it has been the down flow for broadcasting. You would go to the event and then broadcast it. Now a person can post a tweet and it not be filtered. Social media is a pain in the neck.” said Bruce
