Jones promotes his vision and ideas so strongly that others lose their own vision and creativity to solely adapt to his way of thinking. True charismatic leaders are able to inspire others to innovate; however, the flip side to such a popular leader is the halting of creativity. This can also cause followers to lose independent thought process and reasoning. This sort of behavior is often believed to be how cults are formed (Ciampa, 2016). Whenever he goes on vacation and an important decision has to be made not a single new idea is mention and everyone thinks what would Mr. Jones decide. This not only halts creativity but it also inhibits the growth and development of staff. When creativity is halted there is a loss of self and often times followers try and imitate their leader (Ciampa, 2016). An example of this is Mr. Jones has an AIT (Administrator in Training), who is often in charge during his absence, that will hold long tedious meeting exactly like Mr. Jones. Jones’s leadership excel is staying true to his charismatic leadership, adapting people-orient behavior, and incorporating transformational traits. Two main areas of focus for a charismatic leader is to look at how they lead themselves and how it affects the organizational culture (Ciampa, 2016). Mr. Jones must first evaluate how he leads himself before he can lead others. He must set and be the example for how he expects his team and staff to perform. Ultimately the leader has the power to manage the relationship between themselves and followers (Ciampa, 2016). He needs to evaluate how the changes made truly affect the organizational culture whether positive or negative. Sometimes Mr. Jones charisma often clouds his judgment and the ultimate goal at hand which sometimes cause conflict with the staff. In order to combat this he must keep open communication and allow for feedback (Ciampa, 2016).
Becoming more people oriented helps Mr. Jones to be more considerate and open to others ideas and feelings of others. People orient behavior is showing a concern for people (Daft, 2014). This is suggested because sometimes Mr. Jones vision over shadows the ideas and creativity of others. This will help to promote creativity throughout the facility and help employees to gain continued trust and respect. People orient leaders are also thought to be more successful leaders (Daft,
