Mr. Newman In The Old Bird, A Love Story

The Old bird, A Love Story, a sad tale about a heartbroken man named Mr. Newman, Mr. Newman has faced many adversities throughout his entire life, after having to work for most of his life time and reaching the age of retiring he still needed financial support in the early 60’s, when many kids didn’t attend school and worked for money or food, just to feed their families, even though it was hard enough to get a job at a time where jobs were decreasing due to the fact that the country didn’t have any money or taxes weren’t high enough or so, Mr. Newman still decided to hang his hopes of getting a job to support his loving wife on a dream that gets further each time he tried to reach it.

In this story many characters had impressions on Mr. Newman that revealed many of his characteristics, when Mr. Newman was applying for job he was quite intimidated by the other applicants as he was the oldest one in the room. The information worker at his new job gave the reader the illustration that Mr. Newman is very friendly “ the smile she gave him was alive and it hinted that things were already on a personal basis between him and her and the company”,
Newman tried to be humorous yet sophisticated to give away the fact that e is old, and assure himself that he still has what it takes from when he was a middle aged man, he was friendly and the fact that he almost started conversations with her as if he wanted her to know more about him, indicated that he was lonely and the only happy thoughts he had were memories. “ why?” he asked himself, he needed a friend because he missed all the good times and the old sports he had, but then Mr. Newman doesn’t tell her about all his memories for the excuse that she is busy and she’ll never
