Dolores is Matilda’s mother and she helped me understand the idea of sacrifice and mothers love. This was shown in the novel when the red skins was going to kill Matilda.
Dolores begged to be killed instead so that Matilda could escape. Dolores beg the red skins ‘’let the girl go, take me instead.’’ This event shows that Dolores is a true example of a mother. Dolores is willing to give her life up in place of her daughter without hesitation which help the reader to understand the idea of sacrifice and mothers love.
Dolores may be view as a character that is scary and strict but she has a strong love for her daughter Matilda and wishes the best thing for her. Another Character that helps me understand the key idea of this novel is Mr Watts. Mr
