“BANG!” goes the sound of the gavel against the sound block. “I plead Mr. Robinson guilty for the murder of his ex-wife, Mrs. Robinson. You are sentenced to 25 years in prison!” shouted the judge. “BANG! BANG! BANG!” the sound of the gavel getting louder and louder in Mr. Robinson’s head. The sound will forever haunt the man. Mr. Robinson would never be the same again for he will spend the next 25 years of his life living with hoodlums and eating nothing but rice, beans, and a small roll. Mr. Robinson had made the worst decision of his life. One month earlier, he was at a party with some friends. There was quite a lot of drinking at this party and not a single person was sober. While some people were playing games, Mr. Robinson was sitting …show more content…

When they got there, they went back over their plan quietly so nobody can hear. They found the location of the bench and sure enough, she was there. Just as usual, she was wearing a pair of white wash jeans with holes and some sneakers. Mr. Robinson and one of his other friends, Michal, started making their way toward Mrs. Robinson, with the cloth and rope in hand. The boys started making their way around the park, trying not to look suspicious. After they got behind the bench, they looked at each other and gave a little nod to show that they are about to do this, and that they should go through with the plan. Lately there have been a lot of break-ins and armed robberies in Jimboomba by ‘teenagers’. They’ve been demanding money from store clerks, some with knifes, baseball bats, and anything in between. To be honest I do not find the joy in doing such a thing, I believe that if you work hard enough to earn a living you will feel as if you have done well in this life and honestly I wouldn’t feel good knowing I have someone else’s hard earned money all to myself. I know that some of the crimes committed aren’t so bad, but the teens should be punished to learn from their mistakes, I believe that by doing so it will cause the community to feel safer and engage the government to make Jimboomba a better place to live.…

Someone once said, “who said you can’t let people scare you. You can’t go your whole life trying to please everyone else. You can’t go through life worried about what everyone else is going to think. Whether it’s your hair, clothes, what you have to say, how you feel, what you believe and what you have. You can’t let the judgment of others stop you from being you. Because if you do, you're no longer you. You're someone everyone else wants you to be.” Nobody thought that Seabiscuit was good enough to race but in reality they just did not understand him. On January 20th, Jackie Evancho stood on the steps of the U.S capitol and sang the national anthem for the incoming 45th President Donald Trump. Being able to sing the star spangled banner for the inauguration is quite the honor but Jackie received all sorts of feedback for representing Donald Trump. Throughout his campaign Donald had made anti-women claims and statements. Many people believe that performing for Trump amounts to some kind of capitulation to the anti-American ideals of the Trump campaign and transition. A day after the Inauguration a Women’s march packed the United States so there was a lot of controversy towards why Jackie would represent our President. Understanding the situation and the opportunity to represent the U.S, the lyrics of the National Anthem as well as the manner in which it is performed by Jackie Evancho misrepresents our country’s opinions and values regarding freedom and patriotism.…
