Introduction
The aim of this assignment is to get a better understanding of the study of business research. To be able to distinguish between qualitative and quantitative research, to know the difference between the different research designs and data collection methods and finally to create a questionnaire.
Question 1
The case study reflects some provisional exploratory research on Internet addiction across the world that was conducted by the South African Cyber Research Institute (CRI), which intends to undertake a similar first-time study among individuals residing in South Africa. Use this background information and the case study information to:
(a) Explain the research design type referred to as ‘exploratory research’ with specific reference to external secondary data that was collected to gain some preliminary insights into some past international trends in Internet addiction. From the case study, also list three examples of external secondary sources consulted during the exploratory research phase.

Exploratory research is used to solve a specific problem by searching for reasons for the problems existence and why and how the problem needs to be solved by making decisions and considering alternatives and variables.
