At first, the most interesting thing in this story is that the reaction about Mrs. Mallard when she got the news that her husband was dead from her sister Josephine. Mallard mood changed when she went away to her room alone. As I said before, all the readers may think that she was in great sad, but actually her mood changed, her thought what her life would be after her husband was dead and she felt a kind of freedom in her head. I think we can get this idea from these sentences in the story. For example: "When she abandoned herself a little whispered word escaped her slightly parted lips. She said it over and over under her breath: "free, free, free!" The vacant stare and the look of terror that had followed it went from her eyes. They stayed keen and bright. Her pulses beat fast, and the coursing blood warmed and relaxed every inch of her body.(Kate Chopin, 1894) " Based on these sentences, we can conclude that Mrs. Mallard when she was faced with the natural world that is full of vitality, she initially filled with fear, and then infinite joy waiting for free time. In my opinion, she may be suffer a lot from her husband and did not have have freedom when she lived together with her husband in that society, maybe this is a common phenomenon in that society. Based on these sentences, we can concluded that Mrs. Mallard also felt disappointed and fear that future that not free. From my perspective of view, Mrs. Mallard died from suddenly emotions change.
