through including the Israeli exports and imports that it had been five years prior to the crisis ,Gadaffi had adopted a similar strategy towards the foreign petroleum companies who set prices at their advantage with Libya getting the least out of their dealings and being a key component in their production Gadaffi had them put under immense pressure threatening to cut off all supplies to foreign petroleum companies saying that "people who have lived without oil for 5,000 years can live without it again for a few years in order to attain their legitimate rights" if they refused to renegotiate the previously agreed upon contracts that Libya had signed with them, this lead to the revision of the contracts with the foreign petroleum companies gaining Libya much wealth with many seeing Gadaffi as a hero for the restoration of the country’s wealth from its resources(source G). Gaddafi also assisted the groups that were oppressed in other countries by imperialist rule that took form of resistance groups around the world in terms of financing and military training (Source E).
An example being South Africa during apartheid he assisted the ANC and other revolutionary groups when the USSR could not, to continue the struggle against the oppressors which was the apartheid government at the time that Libya under Gadaffi treated with hostility being made aware of the happenings taking place during the apartheid regime ,not long after having the revolution a success in south Africa by the ANC being the ruling government Nelson Mandela had taken to Libya to thank Gadaffi for his support during the struggle and acknowledging him for being a unselfish man who cared for people in the struggle as he did with the revolutionaries as they had limited support but Gadaffis support was not hidden for their cause and through this Gadaffi had built strong ties around the world as he did with Nelson Mandela the former president of the ANC (source
