Both involve a change in the main character as well as a problem caused the main character that influences the plot of the play. Reading only one play distinctly categorized as a tragedy and another categorized as a Comedic Tragedy, the elements still shown through.

Antony is a man whose main problem seems to be with his indecision. This seems to be his fatal flaw in the play. In the beginning, Antony wants nothing to do with Rome and wishes to bask in the freedom that he has in Egypt. When he returns to Rome, he takes his responsibilities well before returning to Egypt wondering why he left. This is unusual for a man who had gained so much respect in battle.
The internal conflicts Antony deals with is far more damaging than he realizes. In the beginning of the play, Antony focuses more on his love for Cleopatra than his duty to Rome. Caesar even mentions that he ignored his requests while basking in the freedoms of Egypt. While in Egypt, Antony tells Cleopatra of his wishes to be away from his wife who is less enchanting than she is. However, once he hears of her death, he is shocked and feels bad. Cleopatra feels taken aback by this since he told her many times he felt nothing for his wife. This confuses her, especially when he agrees to marry Octavia when he is in
