The Malaysian University English Test (MUET) is a test of English language proficiency, largely for university admissions. The test is set and run by the Malaysian Examinations Council (which also runs the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysiaexamination) and largely recognized only in Malaysia andSingapore. Most candidates who sit for MUET do so to apply for admissions in public and private universities and colleges. MUET is a prerequisite in applying for admissions into all public universities and colleges in Malaysia as well as National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University andSingapore Management University. The universities set different target band scores for different courses. For instance, students who want to pursue Law would be required to obtain a Band 4 in MUET, while students who want to pursue Medicine would be required to obtain a Band 5. MUET is also compulsory for graduating from a local university. So, candidates are advised to take the MUET as soon as possible to avoid delays in their graduation.Public (government) servants also take MUET for promotion opportunities. For intance, police officers, teachers and administrative staff take MUET as an English qualification.Candidates usually have to register via their institution, private candidates with their State Education Department, with a registration fee which used to be RM 61, but has now gone up to RM 101. Candidates can register for MUET online via the mpm website. Although Malaysian government has decided to abolish government examination fees from 2007 onwards,[1] MUET will remain as a paid test. From year 2012 onwards, MUET will be held three times per year, in March, July and November. It is advisable to allocate sufficient time for preparation, in order to obtain the band score required for university. On average, 85,000 candidates sit for the MUET each time. [2]

MINATA Sow FALL 'S NOVEL, The Beggars ' Strike. is an account of a fictional strike in a West African Society. In this story state bureaucrats, who think beggars discourage tourism from the West, decide to rid the city of begging. The policy is implemented through police tactics of harassment, physical abuse, and imprisonment of beggars. This unbearable situation prompts the beggars to organize a strike in which they refuse to return to the city streets to receive donations. The novel portrays the beggars as an integral part ofthe society 's social structure, and their removal creates profound disruptions in people 's everyday lives. Fall 's novel constructs a paradigmatic framework to help the reader understand how begging fits into West African society.! This view is particularly informative for Western readers who may believe that begging is marginal or dysfunctional. In this paper I outline the two…

Hadji Murat, Tolstoy's second book with the Caucasus as its setting can be considered a work of historical fiction that is a beautiful tale of resistance, and a window into not only the Caucasian War of the mid-nineteenth century, but also the culture of the Russian Empire during this period. As a work of fiction the reader must be wary of depictions of actual persons such as Tsar Nicholas I, whom Tolstoy was not enamored with, to say the least, but many insights about the period and its people can be gleaned from the story. The novel is one of great contrasts between Chechens and Russians and also of what life was like during this time.…

    Goldcoast Erosion

    • 365 Words

In recent decades erosion has become a major issue to beaches around Australia, since beaches are temporary features. There is always sand being removed and sand being added to them, often, they change drastically during the year, depending upon the frequency of storms. Eventually, a beach erodes because the supply of sand to the beach cannot keep up with the loss of sand to the sea. The Sand dunes and vegetation help to hold the sand in place when wind or water tries to erode it away. The environment can be affected by erosion in several ways. First and the most obvious, houses that are built along the shore are at risk of being washed away if more sand is being removed from the beach in the winter, and not enough sand is returned in the summer. Secondly, animals that live on the beach are at risk for losing their homes. The amount of sand on the beach, and how it is deposited can also affect the shape of the shoreline, which can have an effect on the type of waves that are produced at the beach. The type of waves produced at the beach will also ultimately have an impact on beach erosion.…

Muffin Man is a “Mockumentary” other than a documentary, which describes the extinction of human species due to social excesses (mostly over-eating). Muffin Man shows us the distant future we are creating with our greedy crave and love for junk food, video games, and cars to the extreme that causes the downfall of human beings. Excess is the theme all through the movie. The movie itself, in addition to the overwhelming details and jokes, expresses the theme well enough. Simply put, the movie mirrors the real world situations that human beings are and will be pursuing things that might be unknowingly dangerous. The documentary presents through the overly used details and jokes to question whether morality and ethnicity of specific events throughout the human history.…

There are two sides to it and just having either side is no good, you must have both. Of course, one side is the motor/charger side, and the other is the battery and accumulatorconverter side.
