Multi Agency Working Essay
In this assignment, I will evaluate the role of multiagency working to reduce the risk of abuse of adults, with reference to legal frameworks, regulations, working strategies and procedures. I will outline the strengths and weakness of multi-agency working as well as stating how effective is multiagency working in reducing the risk of abuse.
Multi-agency working can be used as a strategy to reduce the risk of abuse. Multi agency working is when different agencies such as socials workers, doctors, carers would come together for different reasons to discuss the vulnerable adults case and what they could do to protect that particular individual, this reduces the risk of the individual being abused because the multi-agency approach makes sure that all the services that the vulnerable adult is using meeting the needs of that vulnerable adult. For example, a national framework of standards for good practice and outcomes in adult protection work 2005 is used effectively as it focuses on the service user who are not capable of protecting themselves from abuse or harm. This guidance is set up to keep and safeguard vulnerable adult’s independence, wellbeing, and choice and to extend their human right to live free from abuse and neglect. It does this by successfully establishing effective communication between all people and agencies that are involved in the vulnerable adult’s life. For example, if an vulnerable adult doesn’t like eating a certain type of food then this information needs to be passed on through communication to other professionals, because if the professionals and agencies don’t come together and establish an effective communication between each other, it will increase the risk of lack of care and abuse as the carer may force the
