Murder Case: Mr. Moloney V. Maloney Murder

What motive would a devoted, joyful wife have to murder her hardworking husband? The defendant, Mrs. Maloney, was a loving, caring wife to her husband fulfilled his every need. She was not only his wife, but the mother of his unborn child. She would spend every hour of her life cleaning their home, washing their clothes, and preparing hot meals for him. On the day that Mr. Maloney was killed, Mrs. Maloney was out getting other items for his supper. She even has a witness that puts her at the grocery store getting vegetables at the time Mr. Maloney was murdered. Not only does she have an alibi, but she is pregnant with his child and could not possibly kill Mr. Maloney due to maternity. Mrs. Maloney did not kill her husband and should not be found guilty for voluntary manslaughter.
How could Mary be the killer if she wasn’t at the crime scene? According to court documents, “It wasn’t six o’clock yet and the lights were still on in the grocery shop.”(Dahl). It would have been impossible for Mary to commit the crime because she was at the grocery shop when the crime took place. Mrs. Maloney went to the grocery store for some vegetables. The grocer states, “Mrs. Maloney came to the store to purchase vegetables and potatoes, bought two of the potatoes. She seemed happy and calm as she
Maloney is innocent, there are some statements that were made that could make the assumption that she is guilty. According to case files, Detective One stated, “ You know just as well as I do he used to fool around from time to time.”(Dahl). Giving her a reason to be angry at him and cause her to do something by the heat of the moment. But, due to the fact that Mrs. Maloney is pregnant, it would be hard for her to use an instrument like the one mentioned, or use as much force as needed to kill Patrick Maloney, as stated by Detective Three. Mr. Maloney made her a pleased wife and gave her no suspicion as to if he was being unfaithful or
