Muscle Disease: The Different Types Of Myopathy
Myopathy is a muscle disease. The disease can be contracted many different ways. Some of the ways are inherited, infectious, inflammatory, drug related or toxic. There are signs and symptoms related to myopathy which include, fatigue, muscle weakness, fever, scaly or dry area covering the knuckles, elbow and/or knees and dark colored urine. Below is a list of different types of myopathies and their causes.
Endocrine – caused by over or underproduction of hormones. The types of endocrine myopathies are steroid, hyperthyroid, hypothyroid, Cushing’s disease and hormone-secreting tumors.
