Mushin no shin, a Zen expression meaning ‘mind of no mind’ i.e. a mind not fixed or occupied by thought or emotion and thus open to everything.
Mushin is achieved when a fighter feels no ego during combat. There is an absence of discursive thought, and so the fighter is totally free to act and react towards an opponent without hesitation. At this point, a person relies not on what they think should be the next move, but what is felt intuitively.
Insight is often described as - Penetrating mental vision or discernment; faculty of seeing into inner character or underlying truth; the act or outcome of grasping the inward or hidden nature of things or of perceiving in an intuitive manner [Source - American Psychological Association (APA), (Chicago Manual Style (CMS), Modern Language Association (MLA)]. This paper aims to establish the role of Intuition in generating Insights.
