Music Reflection
Music Reflection: Music really hits people’s emotions and for a lot of people there emotion is a key sense. I would describe musically everyone’s “Music World” is emotion and how the lyrics speak to you. Music unquestionably affects our emotions. We tend to listen to music that reflects our mood. When we’re happy we may listen to upbeat music; when we’re sad we may listen to slower, moving songs; when we’re angry we may listen to darker music with heavy guitar, drums, and vocals that reflect our level of anger. Answering the question music plays a big role in making people feel better. Or some people write about here past experiences and events which then you got to connect with and feel like your not the only one. Music is also a way to showcase your talent and passion for something.

Music has its decades you can immediately recognize when its from because of the newer technologies we have to make music. For example if you hear a fast beat with a lot of tech you might immediately think Disco. From that you can say well the 80`s were a huge disco time therefore I think this song might be from the 80`s. in the 90`s there was a lot more risk`s that were taken which have luckily for us helped shape our world musically and not. For example there was a lot of racism at one time James Brown (Vocalist) put out new songs that people wouldn’t even listen to but because he did others did it and now many black people have songs out that are hits. That has a lot to do with how important music is to us now. Technological advancements in the last century have revolutionized the way we make, market and listen to music. To be specific, the invention and evolution of samplers, synthesizers and computer technology has changed the way music is now produced.. Many composers now use synthesizers and computers to create sounds. Others have composed pieces using a mixture of electronic sounds and traditional instruments. An example is Kontakte by the German composer

Pieper answers this question by quoting Schopenhauer, who claimed music, "does not speak of things but tells of weal and woe" (42). This makes sense because it relates to "man's good," and our yearning for perfect happiness. When listening to music certain emotions surface, as Plato stated, "Music imitates the impulses of the soul" (Pieper 45). Thus, to truly understand what we perceive when we listen to music, one must understand what is being expressed, and not simply "listen." For many, music can be an "out of body experience," something that truly reveal's man and his meaning in life. Some may argue that music is simply "…a means of personal enchantment, of escapism…" (Pieper 50). How one views and interprets music truly reveals one's character, because, "music lays bare man's inner existential condition," (Pieper 50).…

Music can bring out emotions and forgotten memories. Music serves as a powerful cue to recall emotional memories back into awareness. We all have a ton of emotions that control how we act and what we say. Our emotions are triggered by many things. One of those things is Music. At a funeral for one of my family members a song by Whitney Houston was played. Now it is long after that day, but my mother cannot listen to Whitney Houston, because it triggers her past feelings of loneliness and sadness. Two people can listen to the same song and can convey two entirely dissimilar statements. Humans need music to openly express their emotions, because without it, the world becomes so bleak and dull.…

At first, when I heard this song I started to cry because I automatically heard my Dad’s voice apologizing for what happened. This song has influenced my life because it was always there for me when I needed a father’s reassurance. Music has always been there for me when no one was or when I needed advice to keep going. Music allows people to put their experiences in a song that makes sense to them.
