Wicked
The Wicked is concern about growth story of Elphaba. She is the daughter of the governor; however, she was unfortunately born in green, and gets no support from her father. Her sister Nessarose has been disabled in a wheelchair under the full love of her father. They came to the school, met the popular white Galinda and many students, so many wonderful stories happened. This is the first experience of appreciating the musical, the feeling is different from on the screen. The decoration and layout are stereo, many scenes are beautiful and magical. Especially, the first scene that finally Elphaba flew into the heaven with the broom and dressed up like smoke was so shocked.
The Wicked is directed by an American famous actor and director Joe Mantello. He has won numerous awards, including two Tony for Best Director, an Outer Critics Circle Award, and a Drama Desk. attention and gives the play more expectation. The composition of the theatre is different from ordinary musicals; it presents the way as a movie.
The melody of general musical often contains a tune and many variations in each song. However, the tune in the theatre is more independent. Many songs are well known in the Wicked. No one mourns the wicked is the first song expressing strong feelings and causing curiosity of the audience. What’s this feeling and Popular are two funny songs which bring us happiness and sounds of laughter. I like the song I am not pretty girl most because I think it is the special one for young girls’ love and writes about the heart sound. And No good deed gravity defying reflects the personality of the green witches in big changes. This song is important because it influences the storyline of the whole play. For good is related to the blond and green hair witches to different paths before touching farewell. Both men and women would like this

The whole play is under an easy humor of the original style and end up with a happy ending the last ending. After seeing the whole play people feel happy, it is really a very suitable play for all ages. The sets of the stage design are excellent. The Wicked applies many sound effects, gives you a feeling like watching movies. Unfortunately, I sit at the end of the position, so that I cannot see clearly and lost many details on actor’s face. After watching the whole play, I understand why the Wicked is so popular. The actors play wonderful show as well. Music, lights and dance are worth cheering. I enjoy the special stage design and sets, which make the whole show lifelike and vivid by changing scenery. Additionally, the costume of actors is stylish and full of imagination. The whole sets of stage bring us into a fantasy world which is different from the reality. The audience’s response is warm, and it is really a good show worth watching.
