I. Introduction
What is sound proofing?
* Soundproofing is any means of reducing the sound pressure with respect to a specific sound source and receptor * There are several basic approaches to reducing sound : incresing the distance between source and receiver, using noise barriers to reflect or absorb the energy of the sound waves , using damping structures such as sound baffles, or using active antinoise sound generators.
II. Objectives * To soundproof the room. * Enhance the surround sound. * Cheap and simple Materials to use. * Simple Sound Proofing.
III. The Room
Ace’s Family room located at Merville Village Parañaque.

(Doors/Windows) * Acoustic Foam-Reduces or eliminates echoes and background noises by controlling the reverberation that sound can make by bouncing off the walls (Walls/Ceilling) * Duct ape –Adhesive Tape

VII. Application There are two ways that sheet block can be used. It can either be used as a sound barrier for a door or a window.
Using Sheet Block on a door: 1. Measure the dimensions of the door to be covered. 2. Attach the sheet block to the door using silicon. More than one layer of sheet lock can be used, depending on the situation. 3. To further sound proof the door, foam can be attached around the door jams to trap some of the noise.
Using Sheet Block on a window: 1. Measure the dimensions of the windows. 2. Attach the sheet block using silicon to the frame of the window. More than one layer of sheet block may be used, depending on the situation. 3. There is no need for foam on the windows because after attaching the sheet block, the window can no longer be opened.
Acoustic foam can be used on the walls, the floor, and even the ceiling. Wherever it is used, it is pretty much the same when it comes to attaching it to a surface. It can be attached using many methods. For permanent stay, adhesive spray will do. Simply spray the surface and attach the acoustic foam. Most adhesives are good options. When it comes to nails, these should be avoided.
When it comes to duct tape, this can also be used in place of foam when it comes to soundproofing door jams or windows. Duct tape helps to muffle noise, so simple application will do. The number of layers applied depends on how many you think will do.
