My Academic Capstone Essay Assignment
“ACA” Capstone Essay Assignment My academic goal management plan that I set for my English 111 class has been a benefit for my grade and myself. Before I set the goal of pushing out an A for English 111, I had a C in the class. I still do not have an A yet I have a B, but it is progress. I also set a goal that requires me to accomplish a 4.00 “GPA” by the end of the semester. I am not there yet, but I am getting close as I approach the end of the semester. Goal setting has impacted my English grade, because it gave me a sense of urgency. Goal setting kept me focus on the big picture, which was to complete this semester, ending with all A’s. Goal setting also steered me down the rights paths; like a “GPS” system, it made sure that I did not …show more content…
Which were to stay focus and consistent studying. I can honestly say I used all the strategies that I listed on my self-regulated learning reflection form. My learnings strategies are very effective; I have all A’s and one B so far for the semester. Switching the subject to time management, I have been monitoring my studying time. To be honest, I have not been studying as much as I should, but it has been enough to keep my goals in reach. The amount of studying that I do, helped me accomplish all A’s and one B. Time the management is valuable because it keeps me focus and I would recommend it to first year students, because it might keep them focus on accomplishing their goals. Moving on to stress management. My biggest stressor of attaining my academic goals is just achieving them. I worry a lot, in and outside of school, about how good I am doing. I find trusting myself relieves the stress of me failing. To wing away from stress management, I will touch on my self-efficacy. My self-efficacy scores that were earlier in the semester do relate to all my classes scores. They were accurate as far as my actual grades. I am confident and it shows in my

For those students that have issues with time management the (SEC) can introduce time management courses. The (SEC) can also assign a second or third year student that can help the first year student on developing a time management plan. This could really help the first year student because the third and second year students would have already gone through the transition stage and would be able to give the first year student some good tips on how to manage time…

Over the years, racial stereotypes have evolved from being offensive preconceptions regarding race to be humorous generalizations. They now serve as a source of entertainment in movies, TV shows, and other forms of media. By presenting these stereotypes as entertaining elements in popular media they shed light on real racial problems in our society today in an unaggressive manner. In Guess Who (2005) Percy Jones and Simon Green’s dysfunctional relationship is used to identify the underlying racial tensions between African American’s and Caucasians, including the issues about employment, physical characteristics, and lifestyle choices; Simultaneously, director Kevin Sullivan sends the message that the issues presented in the movie are not specific to one race, but rather to our society as a whole.…

The Jackson 5 (also spelled The Jackson Five, sometimes stylized The Jackson 5ive), later known as The Jacksons, or simply Jacksons, are an American popular music family group from Gary, Indiana. Founding group members Jackie Jackson, Tito Jackson, Jermaine Jackson, Marlon Jackson and Michael Jackson formed the group after performing in an early incarnation called The Jackson Brothers, which originally consisted of a trio of the three older brothers. Active from 1964 to 1990, the Jacksons played from a repertoire of R&B, soul, pop and (in the 1970s) disco. During their six-and-a-half-year Motown tenure, The Jackson 5 was one of the biggest pop-music acts of the 1970s, and the band served as the launching pad for the solo careers of their lead singers Jermaine and Michael, the latter brother later transforming his early Motown solo fame into greater success as an adult artist. The Jackson 5/The Jacksons have sold 100 million records worldwide, making them one of the best selling artists of all time!!!!!!!!…

Elizabeth City State University, located in Northeastern North Carolina, has been victim to a lot of violence in recent years. These crimes have put students’ lives at risk; in recent events, an unknown person came on campus and started shooting, and luckily that day no one got injured. Another incident happened in 1984 when a female student was beaten and hanged in her dorm room. These are some examples of crimes that have happened on the university campus. While away at college, a student or parent should not have to worry constantly about a college campus not being safe and the safety of their child. It is up to the school faculty and leaders to help provide a safe environment for the students. The school should enforce security, have surveillance cameras, and checkpoints for visitors who come on campus, in order to make Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) a safer school.…

My writing assignment for my writing intensive is a Princess Project paper for my EDUC 121 class. After analyzing my writing assignment, there are key verbs in my assignment such as “select,” “build,” “produce,” “choose,” “justify,” “reinforce,” and “detail.” The possible structure of the essay would be a persuasive essay. This is because the writing prompt informs the writer to select six attributes from six different princesses. The six attributes would then build a princess and the writer must reinforce and justify why the new princess is strong. The essay would be persuading the reader that the six attributes that are chosen are considered to be strong attributes of a princess.…

In reading The Naked Citadel by author Susan Faludi and An Army of One: Me by author Jean Twenge, I do not believe that the students of the Citadel exemplify Generation Me for reasons that include individual behavior and expectations, exclusion of different groups, and cultural values. Both Faludi and Twenge give many examples of how each group of individuals is different from one another and somewhat alike when it comes to searching for their values in life. In the Citadel, the students are expected to act and do the same as each other in their everyday routine whereas with Generation Me they are solely focused on themselves and no one else around them.…
