I was born and raised here in the United States. Therefore, I have been part of a generation that has experienced both the good and the bad. When I was younger, I always thought America was the greatest country in the world. I was so proud to be born and raised in the United States. I remember learning about 9/11 every year, watching Barack Obama become our first African-American President, and learning about the many tragedies our nation has faced along these past few years. Pop culture has made an impact on my life and has been a big part of my generation. I grew up listening to a lot of music and watching plenty of television shows and movies. In addition, when people ask me about my home life or my family, I always tell them I have a great home life. I have been blessed to have the parents that I have. My parents raised me right and have always been here for me. I see other kids around me and think about their home life and how they are treated. I worry for some kids and I know some are in good hands. Even though we live in a country that does not face as many problems as other countries, we still see people get arrested for abuse and sexual assault daily. I feel hurt for these kids, for these people and then I realize how appreciative I truly
