My Beliefs About Following One's Conscience

My beliefs about following one’s conscience are that by following your conscience it will lead you to do the right thing and that you will do what’s right for you. Your conscience is what helps you decide what’s right from wrong and without it, no one would be able to choose to do the right thing. When I was in eighth grade, my friends and me were 14 years old and we went to Sullivan Middle School. There was a friend in my group that a lot of my friends didn’t like. Her name was Mary. Out of all my friends, Mary was my best friend. It all started with a group message. When Mary was around my friends would text in the group message about her and they would start laughing. Mary would ask them what they were laughing about and they would say something totally random that you knew was a lie. During this time, they didn’t tell me what was
They told me about them not liking Mary anymore and what they were saying about her and I did nothing about it. At that time I was thinking that it wouldn’t last that long and they would all be over it by the end of the week. That didn’t happen. It started getting worse. They would start making fun of her. Mary would be sitting right next to them, and they would turn around and talk about her to the other person they were sitting by. I started to get annoyed with my friends. I knew this wasn’t the right thing to be doing, but they were my friends. I didn’t want them to be mad at me because I thought how they were treating Mary was wrong. Everything changed on the day one of my friends told me that they were going to start ignoring Mary everytime she tried to talk to one of them. They were going to pretend she was invisible.
