between the board game and the book is major conflict, the board is pretty much the path to the resolution of the major conflict, save for the actual resolution which is not in Legend.
The board game I chose to create reflects plot, it reflects plot through the cards that act as rewards and buffers to your overall success in the game. All of the cards are based on events that happened in the book like finding food or fights. Another way the game reflects plot is by how the board is actually built, it is made in levels because Day and June kept on being faced with hardship after hardship and they overcame them and moved on to the next hardship. Finally, the plot is shown in the board game with the plot of the game. The game is about trying to get a cure to Eden which intertwines directly with the plot of the story.
The game reflects the theme of deceit and lies because in the book there as a lot of untruthfulness and betrayal. When Day is with June unknowingly, June figures out he is day and calls the police to go to his family’s house and take them all hostage. While hostage the commander kill Day’s mother and this was the most horrible sight he had ever seen all because of June lying to him and being deceitful. The theme intertwines with the game because within the cards there are events that highlight the lies that june told to him in order to gain a reputation and take revenge on her brother’s killer.
