The best thing happened in my life that I have known a guy from my family when I moved to Dubai for the first time, which is Mohammad, my cousin. He really means a lot to me that’s why I am going to talk about him. I was eight years old at that time. He’s like my age. He was born in Dubai. The first time he came with my aunt to our house was the first time I see him and my aunt. We were looking at each other’s with a strange look. I was playing with my video game and I saw him watching me playing and I thought he’s waiting me to invite him to play with me and I was correct about it. He really wanted to play with me. I looked at him and smiled and said, “Why don’t you come and join me?” He smiled and said, “Alright!” Then we played together and talked about how my life in Jordan was awesome and his life in Dubai. This was the first I met Mohammad. I joined the same school as him when I was in third grade. We sat beside each other’s in class and we stayed till the twelfth grade in the same class and beside each other’s. We were always fighting in the school and after we finish the fight we sit again beside each other’s as nothing happened. We studied together and I remember how we were jealous of each other’s because each one of us wants to prove to his parents that I am the best in my study. We finished school together in three years with a good grade and we made our parents proud of us. I remember this now, because he’s the first person I met when I first moved to Dubai and he stayed with me always. Whenever I needed someone to talk with and tell a secret he was there for me. He always tells me when he sees me upset or confused from anything, “Hey brother don’t lose hope in life, everything is going to be good just trust God.” I remember these words from him now because he travelled to Jordan to complete his study in the university there and I travelled to the United States and this was the hardest time in my life because I left my family and specially my cousin Mohammad. We did a lot of crazy things in our childhood, like one time when I was sixteen years old we escaped for the first time from school with our friends and the school caught us and called our parents and we were saying to our parents, “It’s not me he’s the one who told me to escape with him!!” Our parents know that we both planned for it and my Mom said, “You both deprived of going out this weekend and you’re going to study the whole things you took in this week!!!!” This was the worst punishment we get in that time. I am twenty years old now and I would like just to say thank you Mohammad for everything you did say to me or did it to me. He gave me self-confidant when I travelled, he said “We’ll stay cousins, brothers, and best friends even if we are not beside each other’s for now.” And he also said, “Finish your study and get you bachelor degree and come back fast!” and from the first day I travelled he calls me everyday as well as I do call him just to check on each other’s and tell what we did and how is life different here and there. Together, we knew in our hearts what does a very important person means to us and what we should do to appreciate how they affected us in a good way not in a bad way and how we should do the same to them. Just don’t lose hope.
