My Brother Sam Is Dead Summary

Chapter 4-6 in My Brother Sam is Dead shows the actions the British and Continentals are taking against each other and how they are affecting the Meeker family. In chapter 4, Tim goes to chop wood and the Continentals show up in Redding. The Continentals want Father’s gun, which he doesn’t have due to Sam’s thievery. Therefore, Tim goes to get the gun from Sam. Afterwards, Sam and Tim go to the tavern to check on their parents. Father and Mother are fine and Sam runs off. In chapter 5, Mr. Heron comes by the tavern and wants Tim to runs some letters for him down to Fairfield. Father gives a strong no on that question. Despite that, Tim finds an excuse to run off to Fairfield. Betsy and Tim meet on the Fairfield Road. Betsy wrestles the letter
