Ever since I was little I went fishing with my dad so my love for aquatic animals and the water is extreme.Because of that marine biologist would be good career choice for me. Another career choice I have considered was a crime scene technician because of my recently watching a tv show Hawaii 5-0. I have found that I really like the crime scene environment. Both careers differ in education, job qualities, and job tasks. But they are similar to each other in work environment.…
Goals can be personal or professional, long-term or short-term, but they help us track our course and stay on target for our future endeavors. Securing the image you see for your future requires straightforward ideas, dedication, and a passion to carry you through to the end. A goal is an end to which you direct your efforts. (Carter, Bishop, & Kravits, 2011, “Glossary”). The objectives desired by each individual acts as a compass, guiding each of us to ultimately build upon our blue print for life.…
My educational goals are to continue my education after high school by going to college for two years, studying criminal justice. A career in Criminal Justice can be an exciting and very rewarding road to travel. It has a high risk of danger, but the capture of someone who has harmed another human being is a great reward. As a law enforcement official, you can help to keep criminals off the street and provide safety to the community. The main concern for me would be to provide a safe environment for our children. There are a lot criminals out there, who target children, and I want to contribute everything I can to stop this.…
My educational goals and plans involve criminal justice, human services, and vet science. I went to Niacc for two years to try and get my Criminal Justice degree. I took several classes for it, but fell short of money to finish what I needed to graduate. I have always been interested in T.V. shows like Criminal Minds and Law and Order: SVU, 48 Hours, and Dateline. Those shows give me the idea of what I want to do and who I want to be like. I don't know the destined occupation in that career field that I want to do. I would be okay with any job in that career field though. I have much respect for police officers and fire fighters. I always told myself I want to be like them someday. I want to be a hero to someone. I want to go the extra…

I chose crime scene investigation as a career because when I was a little girl my dream was to work for the police department. I love watching crime scene investigation shows on television, especially involving teens and babies. They inspire me to want to help those who are in need of help. In most cases, you will experience death at a crime scene but I am prepared for all this job has to offer. But as a crime scene investigator it is your job to find enough evidence to help the prosecutor build a compelling case and find the perpetrator of the crime beyond a shadow of a doubt.…
Criminal justice is a field with many different facets. Deciding which career is best for you is a very difficult decision that one can make. There are so many different types and areas of studies to choose from. With that being said, I have a couple that I am interest in. Through my years, I would always look up to the characters that would appear in criminal shows such as; Ashley Johnson in Blindspot and David Caruso starring CSI: Miami. There was never a time where I would miss…
Receiving a degree can be a complicated process. It can also be very difficult depending on if you enjoy learning about the topic or not. But in most cases, students enjoy learning about the major they picked to pursue. However, the field I chose to study is Criminal Justice. Nevertheless, Criminal Justice degrees are very versatile and can open new career opportunities in a variety of related fields.…
Regarding the Forensic component of my career, I plan on becoming a Crime Scene Investigator (CSI). When I become a Crime Scene Investigator, I plan on working for the Federal Bureau of Investigation ( FBI) and solving mysteries all around the world. Being in the FBI will give me a chance to be hands-on when it comes to crime scenes and it will also allow me to pursue my passion in science.…
It has taken a long time to choose a career, and I have gone through many other options before deciding on this. I think a criminologist is a good career for me, because I have not been deterred from it, and there has not been a part of it that I would not enjoy. For example, I did not want to be a vet, because I do not like to see animals in pain. I did not want to be a truck driver, because I am not that big into driving. More recently, I do not want to be a cop, because I am more interested in the why then catching a criminal. The other reason I think this would be a good career for me is because I like to figure out why people are the way that they are, and why people do the things that they do. I enjoy studying human behavior, and I have always held an interest in learning about why criminals are criminals, and what drove them to choose that crime, and could it have been prevented. Another reason I think this career would be a better fit for me, than other fields in the criminal justice program, like attorney, or police officer, is because I am not too interested in the law part, or arresting people, but I am into finding out the why and…
Want to be a crime scene investigator? That 's great, except that it is nothing like the shows CSI that you may watch on television. I personally love the CSI: NY television show, but I also know that it is nothing like that in real life. I watched a CSI: NY episode called "Get Me Out of Here". I am going to talk about the show and then what it is like as a real crime scene investigator.…
This profession appeals to me because even though I love people, I like being behind the scenes and being able to do my job alone. I watch a lot of detective shows that really show me what a coroner is, and by the looks of what they do, it interests me very much. My goals in life are to become something that makes enough money to support my family and then some. If I were to become a coroner, I would be making very decent money. In my interview with the West Chester country coroner, he explained how much education I will need and a lot of other important information.…
