My Challenges In To Kill A Mockingbird
I had some challenges in the first semester. I realized that it gets harder every year. I felt like ninth grade was a bit easier than this year. The final for English was easy. There were only two questions. We took a final for the novel, To Kill A Mockingbird. My goal is to have good grades, but also pass every class so that I don’t have to retake any. I want to be able to graduate on time. It always gets hard when almost end of the semester. That is the time when teachers start to give out more work. It’s a good idea but the same time bad. It can help bring grades up for some people. Most people are lazy so they rather not do it and fail the semester. My challenge was trying to focus with so many distractions in the way.

We did a speech about our similarites with the story A Vist To Grandmother’s. I need to improve on mkaing my voice louder. My voice was soft and low. I think I just get nervous when everyone is looking at me. There were some oportunities to go with UCI tutors. I was thinking about going since I didn’t really understand some lessons from some of my classes. I don’t want to get stressed out as much no more. Last year I was working so hard to bring all my grades up at least to passing grades. It’s a good idea if I go after school to any of my classes when my teachers have the oportunity or are able to stay after school. Sometimes teachers give us their time, but we don’t take advantage of it.

I didn’t really enjoy my first semester. I felt pressured and stressed. I felt like I had a lot of work to do. I hate having a lot of homework, because then I don’t have any time left for myself. We also get graded for our participation. I need to raise my hand more in this class to get participation points. This assignment made my grade go down a lot. Every year it gets harder and there’s a lot more work to do every time. Just thinking about it, gets me feeling

Because Radley has a lot of rumours. “People said he went out at night when the moon was high, and peeped in windows. When people’s azaleas froze in a cold snap, it was because he had breathed on them. Any stealthy crimes committed in Maycomb were his work.” Their lifestyles are very different, special and incomprehensible. “The Radleys, welcome anywhere in town, kept to themselves, a predilection unforgivable in Maycomb. They did not go to church, Maycomb’s principal recreation, but worshipped at home; Mrs Radley seldom if ever crossed the street for a mid-morning coffee break with her neighbours and certainly never joined a missionary circle. Mr.Radley walked to town at eleven-thirty every morning and came back promptly at twelve; sometimes carrying a brown paper bag that the neighbourhood assumed contained the family groceries’.” They are also mysterious to the children.” I never knew how old Mr.Radley made his living-Jem said he ‘bought cotton’, a polite term for doing nothing – but Mr.Radley and his wife had lived there with their two sons as long as anybody could remember.” The children themselves are really curious." He would stand hugging the light-pole on the corner, the more he would wonder.” The house is mysterious, too. “The house was low, was once white with a deep front porch and green shutters, but had long ago darkened to the colour of the…

The book To Kill A Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, is said to be an American classic that everyone should read. The book takes place in the small town of Maycomb, Alabama, in the 1930’s during the Great Depression, a catastrophic event in US history when the stock market crashed causing many to lose their jobs and homes. This plays a major role in the book as it affects the way of how white people viewed the African Americans, as less. Atticus, the main paternal figure of the book and the lawyer defending a falsely accused African American of rape, Jem, son of Atticus, and Mrs.Dubose, an elderly woman who criticizes…

In the book To Kill a Mockingbird, written by Harper Lee, the main theme is that it is a sin to kill a mockingbird. This metaphor of not killing mockingbird is clearly portrayed throughout the course of this novel. This theme is so important to the plot of this novel that the author decided to entitle the book after this very metaphor. Mockingbirds are birds that do not do anything wrong and they just give us music. Atticus is the main character in the novel that really stressed why it is a sin to kill a mockingbird. Mockingbirds are just a simple metaphor for the characters in this book who are killed, such as Mr. Raymond and Tom Robinson.…

Before tenth grade, school had come easily to me. I could excel in my classes without having to work hard or often even study outside of class. This changes when I began taking AP Biology with a group of seniors. Having no biology base prior to this class, I was stretched. I had to learn how to study and discover how I learned best. Through much struggle I was able to grow as a student and as a human being. I learned what working hard in school meant and began to see that having good grades and high personal merit was of great personal value to me. That is not to say that this class was without its struggles. There were many moments were I learned something new, sometimes the hard way, but growth was always present. The skills that I cultivated through this course…

So far, my senior is going pretty good. I've been working hard on my PTP, trying to make it as professional as possible, while still trying to show who I am as a person. I'm not gonna lie, the classes have not been easy. The millions of assignments I've been getting have been a detriment to my grades. They seem to be very ubiquitous lately and I just can't seem to get away from them. I haven't exactly been on top of things lately. I'm on the girls volleyball team and we sometimes have to leave school early for our "away games", so I when I get back the next day I have to try and catch up on the classwork I've missed. But, there are a lot of things I could do better to make sure I stay on top of things. Like, going to see my teachers during recess and lunch, so they can help me catch up. Or, going to study hall before volleyball practice to get any homework done instead of waiting till I get home after practice. I'm proud that I actually made it to my senior year because last year and the year before that was not easy.…

Passing every class this semester will help me feel positive and confident about my future and future goals. In order to complete this goal I will have to attend every class and be on time. By missing one class I will miss out on a lot of work and may not be able to catch up. Finally I will have to ask for help if I need it. Even though it is my first semester of college and I do not know what to expect, asking for help is easy and can help improve my college experience.…

This semester was extremely challenging for me, and there were a lot of factors that contributed to my inability to study as hard as I know I am cable of. Had my first child this year, was abandoned by my son’s father to raise my son by myself. To make matters worse, I had some medical complications with my health. I was diagnosed with a Pulmonary Embolism. This news was devastating to me. I was hospitalize for a long time and was so depressed. With all of my problems at hand I had to go to work and work 40 hours a week just so I could support me and my son. With all of these devastating experiences in my life, studying seemed impossible to accomplish the way I wanted to. I was constantly in and out of the hospital, worried about my health and trying to get well. Today I am still recovering and believing that God will bring me peace and happiness in me and my son’s life.…

Since this is my first semester as a college student I didn't know what to expect. One of my major challenges is money. In my senior year of high school my counselor was always telling me ways to help me financially with college. But I never really listened because I didn't think it would be that much, but I didn't have any money saved up for it. But towards the end of high school I realized I really needed help with this, so I listened to what she had to tell me. Another challenge is my classes. Its not that my classes are hard there quite easy, including English, it’s just the homework that’s a little challenging.…

For my semester, it has been relatively good. The bad thing was that the class was kind of really early, but other than that, I really got into the habit of waking up early and being productive through the day. Without this early class, I would’ve been waking up late into the day, wasting it. I am currently enrolled in 4 classes: Math, English, Political Science, and Astronomy. I have no idea what I’m doing with the 2 extracurricular classes but I’m having fun learning about new things. I spend about 14 hours a week in all my classes, as for trying to study and working, I am limited on how much I can study because I have 2 jobs which means 7 days a week of work. I spend about 40 hours or more between the two jobs just trying to make some extra money. For your class, I spend about an hour on homework at times trying to figure out the ridiculous questions and how to answer it the right way which sometimes pisses me off (no offense to you, I blame the site). I really do enjoy online homework, makes it easier to remember and to do. I feel like Logs and Ln is my strong suit as I have had a bit of practice before and the hardest for me would’ve been the exponents. As for the midterm, We had a midterm? I didn’t think that starting off in the school year, I would be having two jobs at once as I was trying to just look for one, but the opportunity arise and I just seized it. It has really changed my life as now I have to juggle school with two jobs at once plus putting time to do some personal relaxation. I am trying to get out of my old lazy habits and get into the “always working attitude.” I feel like if I had a test of…
